Peaceful Deer -- It's The Best Time Of Year
11/10/2021
Hi There!
I finished up my Annual Christmas Card classes this past weekend and it was so wonderful to see everyone! I've been sharing the cards with you and you can see four of the other cards for the class by clicking here, here, here, and here. Participants in the classes made 3 cards each of 5 different designs. The card you see below is the final card design. I've made a couple of other cards using the Peaceful Deer Bundle using very similar designs. You can see those cards here and here.
This card begins with a panel of Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper matted with a slightly larger panel of Real Red cardstock. The panels were adhered at the center of the Garden Green card front. A strip of Be Dazzled 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper was matted with a slightly wider strip of Real Red cardstock (the right and left ends of the two strips of paper are flush). The strips were adhered across the Designer Series Paper panel with the bottom edge of the Real Red cardstock strip 1" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper panel and the right and left edges of the narrow strips flush with the right and left edges of the Designer Series Paper panel.
A piece of Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper was die cut with the 2-5/8" circle die, from the Layering Circles dies, and matted with a piece of Basic Black cardstock die cut with the 2-7/8" scallop circle die, also from the Layering Circles dies. The die cut circles were adhered over the right side of the horizontal strips using Stampin' Dimensionals. The right edge of the scallop circle is 1/8" from the right edge of the Designer Series Paper panel and the bottom edge of the scallop circle is 1/2" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper panel.
The "It's The Best Time Of Year" greeting was stamped on a narrow strip of Basic White cardstock using Garden Green ink. The greeting was matted with a slightly larger piece of Garden Green cardstock and adhered at the bottom of the die cut circles with the right end of the greeting extending beyond the edge of the circles and flush with the right edge of the Designer Series Paper panel.
The "Oh What Fun" deer image was stamped on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The deer was punched with the Deer Builder punch and adhered to the die cut circles using Stampin' Dimensionals (behind the body of the deer) and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (behind the head and neck of the deer).
The 1/4" and 3/4" star dies from the Stitched Stars dies were used to die cut stars (one large and two small) from the Be Dazzled 6" x 6" Specialty Designer Series Paper. The stars were adhered to the Designer Series Paper panel using Mini Glue Dots.
The "Wishing You A Wonderful Year And Friendships Dear" sentiment was stamped at the upper center of a Basic White panel using Garden Green ink. A narrow strip of Basic Black cardstock was adhered behind the top edge of a strip of Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper. The paper was adhered along the bottom edge of the panel. The panel was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card base.
The deer image was stamped at the center of the envelope flap of the Medium Basic White Envelope using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I realize that the Designer Series Papers that I used for this card were only available during Sale-A-Bration; however, many of you still have the paper. For those of you who don't have the paper, don't despair. The simple design of this card lends itself well to a variety of Christmas Designer Series Papers. Just let the colors in the background panel of paper help you determine the colors you will use to frame the deer in the circle, the color of the deer, and the cardstock colors. That's the great thing about Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers -- all the colors coordinate!
