Hi There!
The July - December Mini Catalog sales period begins today and that means that there's a whole lot of Holiday goodness available. If you are on my mailing list, you should have received your catalog in the mail a couple of weeks ago. If you are not on my mailing list, you can see the catalog at the Stampin' Up! Store or by clicking on the Catalogs hot link at the top of this page. If you'd like a paper copy of the catalog, please email me by clicking on the email link on the right sidebar of this blog post.
The last couple of weeks I've been sharing a series of cards made using the Tidings of Christmas Suite from the Annual Catalog. Now that we have the new Mini Catalog, there's a whole lot more Christmas fun to explore. I'm beginning with the Bright Baubles Bundle. I just love the detailed ornament dies in the Delicate Baubles dies.
This card begins with a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the pine bough embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. Note that this folder is not wide enough to emboss the entire panel, so I aligned the embossing folder with the right side of the panel which left a 1" area along the left side of the panel un-embossed. A narrow strip of Real Red cardstock was adhered behind the right side of a strip of Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. The paper was adhered along the left side of the panel with the top, left, and bottom sides of the paper flush with the top, left, and bottom sides of the panel. The panel was adhered at the center of the Real Red cardstock card front.
A piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was die cut with the oblong ornament solid die and adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals with the bottom point of the ornament 1/2" above the bottom edge of the Crumb Cake panel and the widest part of the right side of the ornament 5/16" from the right side of the panel. A piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock was die cut with the Merry & Bright detailed ornament die and adhered at the center of the Pear Pizzazz solid ornament using teeny tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid adhesive (OR you can apply Adhesive Sheets to the back of the cardstock prior to die cutting the ornament, peel off the adhesive cover, and adhere the die cut to the solid ornament). A bow made from Real Red Sheer ribbon was adhered at the top loop of the ornament using a Mini Glue Dot.
The "Wishing You A" greeting phrase was stamped on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock using Evening Evergreen ink. The greeting was matted with a slightly larger mat of Real Red cardstock. Stampin' Seal was applied to the back of the Real Red cardstock behind the "Wis" of "Wishing" and a stack of two Mini Glue Dots was adhered behind the "A" of the greeting phrase. The greeting phrase was adhered near the top left corner of the card front with the top edge of the greeting phrase 3/8" below the top edge of the Crumb Cake panel and the left edge of the greeting phrase 7/16" from the left edge of the panel.
The "Christmas" greeting phrase was stamped on a strip of Very Vanilla cardstock using Evening Evergreen ink. The greeting was matted with a slightly larger mat of Real Red cardstock. The greeting phrase was adhered near the lower right corner of the card front using two sets of two stacked Mini Glue Dots with the right edge of the greeting phrase 1/16" from the right edge of the Crumb Cake panel and the bottom edge of the greeting phrase 1/4" above the bottom edge of the panel.
A narrow strip of Real Red cardstock was adhered behind the right edge of a strip of Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. The strips were adhered along the left side of a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock with the top, left, and bottom edges of the strips flush with the top, left, and bottom edges of the panel. The " 'Tis the season to be jolly" sentiment, from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set, was stamped at the upper center of the panel using Evening Evergreen ink. The panel was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card base.
The envelope flap of the Medium Very Vanilla envelope was embossed with the pine bough folder of the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. To do this, line up the fold line of the envelope flap with a long edge of the embossing folder and carefully place the embossing folder cross-wise on the plate of the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine (the body of the envelope is lying outside the embossing folder) and then place the 3D embossing folder plate over the envelope and embossing folder. Note that normally embossing folders are rolled into the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine fold first to minimize torqueing the folder which will cause the folder to split at the fold.
I'll be back soon with another idea for the Bright Baubles bundle. In the meantime, take some time to look through the July - December Mini Catalog for some great ideas for your holiday crafting.
