Stamp Review Crew -- Dragonfly Garden

Hello!  Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Stamp Review Crew is an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who gather for a blog hop the first, third, and (sometimes the fifth) Mondays of the month to review a single stamp set.  The number of participants varies from hop to hop, but the ideas are plentiful as we take a stamp set through its paces.  By the time you've traveled through the hop, you are sure to find a number of innovative ways to use the featured stamp set.  So sit back, relax, and get ready to start pinning ideas to your Pinterest board!

To see the line up of artists for this week's hop, click here.  If you've already joined the hop and are traveling forward, you've arrived from Mike's blog where you were presented with an amazing project to inspire your creativity.  I'm the last stop on the hop; however, if you're traveling backwards through the hop, you've seen Jay's project and are ready to CASE! I'm not a fan of dandelions and weeds in my yard.  However, put them on pretty paper and I'm a fan.  The Dandy Garden Suite of products in the January - June Mini Catalog features two stamp sets (one with coordinating dies and one with a coordinating Dragonflies punch), and fun accessories -- including the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper.  The great thing about this paper is that there are some sheets where the Dragonflies punch will punch out the large and small dragonfly included in some of the prints on the paper.  So many possibilities!

This card begins with a piece of Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper matted with a slightly larger panel of Bumblebee cardstock.  Note that I chose a piece of Designer Series Paper that had a large dragonfly near the upper right corner of the panel.  Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim was wrapped three times around the lower part of the paper/cardstock with the ends of the trim secured on the back of the cardstock.  The bottom wrap of the trim is 1" from the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper.  The paper/cardstock was then adhered at the center of the Misty Moonlight card front.

The dragonfly image was fussy cut from another piece of the same sheet of Designer Series Paper and adhered over the dragonfly near the top right corner of the Designer Series Paper panel using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals under the thickest part of the dragonfly body and little slivers of dimensionals for the tail (cut from the frame around the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals).

The "Thank You For Your Kindness" greeting was stamped on a strip of Basic White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink.  The ends of the strip were punched in the flat end slot of the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.  The Basic White label was adhered at the center of a slightly larger label punched from Terracotta Tile cardstock using the same slot of the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch.  The label was adhered over the Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  A bumblebee was fussy cut from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper and adhered at the lower right corner of the greeting label.

The group of weeds image was stamped along the left side of a panel of Basic White cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.  Three of the flowers in the group of weeds were colored with Stampin' Blends Markers:  Dark Daffodil Delight for the flower petals and Light Soft Suede for the flower centers.  Three narrow strips were cut from three different pieces of background patterns from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper -- each strip has a different width:  1/2", 3/8", and 1/4".  The right ends of two thin strips of Designer Series Paper were punched with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch:  the widest strip with the flat end slot of the punch and the middle width strip with the curved end punch slot.  The strips were adhered, centered, on top of each other and then adhered near the bottom left corner of the panel with the bottom edge of the widest strip 3/8" from the bottom edge of the panel and the left edges flush with the left edge of the panel.  The panel was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card base.

Small dragonflies and a bumblebee were adhered around the weeds.  The two smallest dragonflies and the bumblebee were fussy cut and the larger dragonfly was punched with the Dragonflies punch.  Note that Multipurpose Liquid adhesive was used to adhere paper strips to each other and the dragonflies and bumblebee to the panel.

A piece of dragonfly-patterned paper was adhered to the flap of the Medium Basic White Envelope.  Paper Snips were used to trim the excess paper from the envelope flap using the edge of the envelope flap as a guide.

Here are a couple of other cards I've made using items from the Dandy Garden Suite.
