Forever Fern -- Hello To A Friend
04/30/2021
Hi There!
Today's post is a continuation on the theme of highlighting some of the retiring product from the 2020 -2021 Annual Catalog and January - June Mini Catalog.
REMINDER!! The Retiring Lists for the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and the January - June Mini Catalog have been released. To see the list of retiring items from the 2020 -2021 Annual Catalog, click here. Note that some of the items on this list have been discounted and all are available while supplies last. To see the list of retiring items from the January - June Mini Catalog, click here. Since this Mini Catalog goes until the end of June, Stampin' Up! hasn't determined whether to apply discounts to these items...yet. But looking at this list will give you a good idea of what will be carrying over to the new Annual Catalog.
This RETIRING ITEMS featured in this blog post are the Forever Fern Bundle and the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper. The Forever Fern stamp set and Forever Flourishing dies will carry over to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog; however, they will no longer be bundled for a 10% discount. I really love the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper and will be sorry to see that discontinued.
With all the great Designer Series Paper that Stampin' Up! offers, it's easy to establish quite a collection (hoard) of beautiful paper. I often hear my customers say that they can't bear to cut up such beautiful paper. If the paper is so beautiful, I can't think of a better way to show homage to the paper than to use it! This card design allows the paper to take center stage. In fact, the project features both sides of the same sheet of paper: the beautiful ferns for the large panel and the more subtle background pattern for the raised lettering and the envelope flap. Stampin' Up! makes it so easy!
This card begins with a panel of Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper. The large round die from the Tasteful Labels die was used to create an opening near the bottom right corner of the panel. Then the panel was adhered at the center of a slightly larger panel of Pear Pizzazz cardstock which was adhered at the center of the Shaded Spruce card front.
A piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the "to a friend that makes me smile" greeting from the Forever Fern stamp set using Shaded Spruce ink. The greeting was die cut with the same large round die used to create the hole in the Designer Series Paper panel. The greeting was adhered inside the die cut hole in the Designer Series Paper panel.
A piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock was embossed using the rows of leaves embossing folder from the Greenery Embossing Folders and then adhered at the center of a slightly larger mat of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. The panels were adhered to the Designer Series Paper panel with the top, left, and bottom sides of the Pear Pizzazz/Shaded Spruce panels 1/16" from the top, left, and bottom edges of the Designer Series Paper panel.
A piece of Foam Adhesive Sheets was cut to fit a piece of Designer Series Paper large enough to die cut the "H-E-L-L-O" dies from the Playful Alphabet dies. You know what I love about these dies? There are multiple dies of popular letters--this means that there are 2 "L"s. Woohoo! The letters were die cut (run the dies through the machine a couple of times to make sure that the dies cut all the way through the thickness of the foam sheets and Designer Series Paper). The letters were adhered vertically to the embossed Shaded Spruce panel.
A narrow strip of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was adhered behind the right edge of a strip of Designer Series Paper. The strips were adhered along the left edge of a Basic White panel with the top, left, and bottom edges of the strips flush with the top, left, and bottom edges of the panel. The panel was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card base.
A piece of Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap of the Medium Basic White Envelope. Paper Snips were used to trim away the excess paper using the edge of the envelope flap as a guide.
How easy was that??!! The 2021-2022 Annual Catalog begins next week and you'll be yearning for all the great new papers. Now's the time to make room for it! Gather up your courage and go attack that Designer Series Paper stash.
