Sweet Strawberry -- That Was So Sweet Of You

Hello!

I've been itching to make another card using the Sweet Strawberry Bundle and the Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper (a Sale-A-Bration bundle with the Berry Blessings stamp set).  I just love all the paper designs, but the strawberries are just the cutest!  Every time I hear or think or say the word "strawberry" I think of my nephew Patrick.  He had an issue with his tongue when he was just learning to speak and had a hard time with the letter "r".  I went to visit him and we were looking at a picture book I had given him and naming the pictures.  When he came to the strawberry he could only say "twababy".  I can still hear him say it.  It was just so darn cute; and of course, so was he!

This card begins with strips of strawberry patterned paper matted with strips of Real Red cardstock with the top and bottom edges of the Designer Series Paper flush with the top and bottom edges of the cardstock.  The strips were adhered, vertically, to the Granny Apple Green card front -- adhering the outside strips first and then the middle strip.  Two pieces of Garden Green cardstock were die cut using the stitched mini banner.  The banners were adhered to the card front with the banner tails facing the right and left sides of the card front and the bottom edges of the banners 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the paper/cardstock strips.

A piece of Basic White cardstock was die cut with the 2-1/4" x 3-5/16" curved ends label.  The strawberry blossom image was stamped at the right side of the die cut using Granny Apple Green ink.  The leaves were colored with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blend Markers and the blossoms colored with Light and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blend Markers.  The blossoms part of the image was stamped again on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock, the blossoms colored with the Stampin' Blend Markers, and the two full faced blossoms fussy cut using Paper Snips.  The flower petals were curled up a bit with the bone folder and the blossoms adhered over their corresponding blossoms on the label using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The "That Was So Sweet Of You" greeting was stamped to the right of the blossoms using Real Red ink.

Gold Cord from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack was looped in the area between the banner tails and adhered to the card front with Stampin' Seal placed between the banner tails.  The label was adhered over the banner tails and gold cord using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The strawberry outline image was stamped on Basic White cardstock using Real Red ink.  The strawberry shadow image was inked with Real Red ink, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped within the outline image.  The process was repeated for a second strawberry.  The strawberries were punched with the Strawberry Builder punch.  The strawberry top leaf outline image was stamped on Basic White cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink.  The top leaf shadow image was inked with Granny Apple Green ink and stamped within the outline image.  The top leaves were punched with the Strawberry Builder punch.  The top leaves were adhered at the top of each strawberry.  The leaf areas of the strawberry blossom image were stamped on Basic White cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink, colored with Light and Dark Stampin' Blend Markers, and fussy cut with Paper Snips.  The blossom leaves and strawberries were adhered at the top right corner of a Basic White panel.  The "Thank You" sentiment was stamped to the right of the lower strawberry using Granny Apple Green ink.  The Basic White panel was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card base.

A piece of strawberry-patterned Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap of the Medium Basic White Envelope.  Paper Snips were used to trim the excess Designer Series Paper using the edge of the envelope flap as a guide.
