Sale-A-Bration -- A Touch of Ink (Butterfly)

Hello!

Next to the Darling Donkeys stamp set, I think the A Touch of Ink stamp set must be the most popular of the Sale-A-Bration offerings.  I don't know this for a fact...I'm just basing my observation on the number of samples I've seen on-line.  I love the idea that you can use the stamp set for two-step stamping or for coloring.  For this card, I highlighted the butterfly and two-step stamping.  I pulled the dominant color of Granny Apple Green from the Oh So Ombre 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper pack -- also available during Sale-A-Bration.

ToughOfInk_ThinkingOfYou

This card begins with a card base of Granny Apple Green.  A piece of Granny Apple Green patterned paper from the Oh So Ombre 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper pack was matted with a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhered at the center of the card front.

The leaf outline image was stamped at the lower half of a piece of Basic White cardstock using Shaded Spruce ink and filled with the leaf shading image using Granny Apple Green ink.  The butterfly outline image was stamped above the leaf images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The butterfly shading image was stamped over the outline image using Mango Melody ink.  The "Thinking of You" greeting was stamped at the lower right corner of the Basic White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  A Blending Brush was used to add a light application of Smoky Slate ink over the leaf and butterfly images to create a shadowing effect around the images.  The Basic White panel was adhered at the center of the Granny Apple Green patterned paper.

The leaf and shading images AND the butterfly and shading images were stamped two more times on Basic White cardstock using the same colors as used before.  One butterfly and one leaf image were fussy cut using Paper Snips and adhered over the images stamped on the Basic White cardstock panel.  The lower two wings (outer wings) of the butterfly were cut out with Paper Snips and adhered over the same wings using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The right two leaves at the top of the leaf image and the middle leaf of the second row of leaves were fussy cut with Paper Snips and adhered over the same leaves using Stampin' Dimensionals.

ToughOfInk_ThinkingOfYou_Inside

The leaf and shading images were stamped at the top left corner and lower right corner of a panel of Basic White cardstock using the same colors used for the card front.  The panel was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card.

ToughOfInk_ThinkingOfYou_Envelope

The leaf and shading images were randomly stamped on the envelope flap of the Medium Basic White Envelope using the same colors as used for all the leaf images.  Tip:  Place a scrap piece of paper between the envelope flap and the body of the envelope to keep the stamping confined to the envelope flap.

I like the flexibility of a "Thinking of You" card as it can be used for pretty much any situation:  Birthday, Sympathy, Get Well, or as a general note card.

Be sure to come back for a visit on Monday to see another card sample using the A Touch of Ink stamp set; but this time featuring the hummingbird and some coloring.

Have a great weekend!

Dragonfly Garden -- For A True Friend

Hi There!

One thing I treasure is the friends that I have made throughout my life.  Some have lasted a short time and others have lasted for decades.  All have left, or continue to leave, a mark on my heart.  I think one of the things that I need to do more of is letting my friends know how very much I appreciate their love and support.  These are the people who are there for me in good times and in bad, who listen when I need to vent or to cheer, and who commiserate with me on my failures and congratulate me on my accomplishments.  I certainly don't want them to think that I take them for granted.  I was thinking about all of the friends I've had through my lifetime while I was making this card.

DragonflyGarden_ForATrueFriend

This card begins with a piece of Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper adhered to a panel of Mossy Meadow cardstock leaving 1/16" between the edges of the Designer Series Paper and the top, right, and bottom edges of the cardstock panel.  A thin strip of Basic White cardstock was adhered behind the edge of a narrow strip of Designer Series Paper.  The narrow strip of Designer Series Paper was adhered to the cardstock panel leaving 1/16" between the edges of the Designer Series Paper and the top, left, and bottom edges of the cardstock panel.  Two pieces of Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim were folded in half and the loops interlocked.  A Mini Glue Dot was placed behind the interlocking loops and then adhered to the narrow Designer Series Paper strip with the interlocking loops 1-3/4" below the top edge of the narrow strip of Designer Series Paper.  The ends of the trim were folded to the back of the cardstock panel and adhered in place.  The cardstock panel was adhered at the center of the Bumblebee card front.

A piece of Vellum cardstock was die cut using the rectangular six-sided label die (1-1/4" x 2-3/4") from the Tasteful Labels dies and adhered near the lower right corner of the card front with the bottom point of the label 3/8" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper.  The "For A True Friend" greeting was stamped on Basic White cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink and die cut with the large circle die (1-5/8") with the greeting near the bottom center of the die cut.  The circle die cut was adhered at the center of the Vellum die cut.  Three bees were fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper and adhered to the circle die cut and to one of the flowers on the Designer Series Paper using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

DragonflyGarden_ForATrueFriend_Inside

A grouping of flowers and leaves were fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper and adhered along the lower right side of a panel of Basic White cardstock.  A thin strip of Bumblebee cardstock was adhered behind a strip of Designer Series Paper and the Designer Series Paper adhered along the bottom edge of the Basic White cardstock.  The "You Are An Inspiration" sentiment was stamped near the upper center of the Basic White cardstock.  The Basic White cardstock was adhered at the inside sentiment area of the Bumblebee card base.  A bee was fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper and adhered among the leaves and flowers.

A piece of Designer Series Paper was adhered to the envelope flap of the Medium Basic White Envelope.  Paper Snips were used to trim the Designer Series Paper along the edge of the envelope flap.

Think about the friends in your life and let them know how special they are by sending them a card expressing your love and appreciation.

Dragonfly Garden -- Good Things Grow

Hello!

Today's post features items from the Dandy Garden Suite of products.  I was introduced to this suite of products with the launch of the January - June Mini Catalog demonstrator event last November.  At that time, we used elements of this product suite to create our Make & Take projects.  I have to say that I'm not sure that I would have ordered these products if I hadn't gotten my hands on the product first as I'm not a big fan of dragonflies.  But I just loved the Make & Take projects that we made and realized that I could have some fun with dragonflies after all.

I needed some Thank You cards in January for on-line orders, so I decided to use the Dandy Garden Cards & Envelopes as the basis for my cards.  What could be quicker than adding a few elements to a pretty card front?

DragonflyGarden_ThankYouCard

A thin strip of Bumblebee background paper from the Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper was adhered across a strip of Misty Moonlight background paper from the paper pack.  The bottom edge of the Bumblebee strip is 1/8" above the bottom edge of the Misty Moonlight strip and the right and left ends of the two strips are flush.  The two strips were adhered across the card front with the bottom edge of the Misty Moonlight strip 1-7/8" above the bottom edge of the card front.

A piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  The embossed piece was adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid adhesive with the left edge of the Mossy Meadow 5/16" from the left edge of the card front and the bottom edge 1" from the bottom edge of the card front.  The wildflower image from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set was stamped on Basic White cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.  The image was die cut using the 1-7/8" x 3-1/2" label die from the Tasteful Labels dies.  Bumblebee Gingham ribbon was wrapped around the bottom area of the die cut label and knotted on the front.  The label was adhered at the center of the embossed Mossy Meadow cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The solid-body dragonfly was stamped on Basic White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink.  The wings shading image was inked with Bumblebee ink, stamped off on a scrap piece of paper, and then stamped over each of the dragonfly wings.  The dragonfly was punched with the Dragonflies punch.  The dragonfly was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush ink was brushed over the dragonfly wings.

A Ladybug Trinket was adhered to the left bottom of the die cut label below the paper strips using a Mini Glue Dot.

DragonflyGarden_ThankYouCard_Inside

The wildflower image from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set was stamped at the lower left side of the inside sentiment area of the card base using Mossy Meadow ink.  The Misty Moonlight paper strip was adhered across the bottom area with the ends flush to the right and left sides and the bottom edge of the strip 11/16" above the bottom edge of the card base.

The "May good things grow all year long" sentiment was stamped on Basic White cardstock and die cut using the 6-sided 1-1/4" x 1-7/8" die.  The die cut sentiment was adhered over the paper strip with the right side of the die cut 1-3/4" from the right side of the card base and the die centered vertically over the paper strip.

DragonflyGarden_ThankYouCard_Envelope

The envelope fronts of the Dandy Garden Cards & Envelopes come preprinted with the wildflower images; so I decided to leave it as-is.

I like that the Cards & Envelopes that are associated with the Memories & More card packs are a bit larger than those we make with a half sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock.  There's more room to write!  The cards are 4-1/4" x 6-1/4" to accommodate the 4" x 6" preprinted cards from the card packs.

Gift Boxed Cards -- Lovely You With Paper Blooms

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the weekend!

Last week I was making cards using Sale-A-Bration products and you've seen those posts here on my blog.  Then I realized that I hadn't made anything with the Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper.  I really love the colors in this paper and the whimsical floral designs.  So soft and pretty with little pops of bright mixed in.  I just love every sheet.

Then I thought about the stamp set I wanted to use with the paper.  I wanted to make sure that I had a greeting that stood out without taking away from enjoying the visual effect of the paper.  The Lovely You stamp set and coordinating Lovely Labels Pick A Punch seemed to be just the right fit.

I made a card,

LovelyYou_PaperBlooms_WildlyGrateful

then another,

LovelyYou_PaperBlooms_CheerYouUp

then another, and

LovelyYou_PaperBlooms_YoureMyPerson

then another.

LovelyYou_PaperBlooms_CherishedFriend

I was having so much fun working with the paper, the greetings, the wonderful possibilities with the punch, and the array of colors.  My heart was so happy!  The cards looked so pretty stacked there on my desk that I realized that I needed to make an equally pretty box to put them in so that I could gift them to someone special.

Once I was done, I realized that I had created a project.  So I took pictures and wrote it up.  And now I'm gifting the project instructions to you!

Happy crafting!

Forever Fern -- You Can Do This

Hello!

Today's post features the Forever Fern stamp set, Forever Flourishing dies, and one of the Greenery embossing folders -- just a few of the awesome items in the Forever Greenery Suite of products.

ForeverFern_YouCanDoThis

This card begins with a card base of Old Olive cardstock.  A piece of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper was adhered along the right side of the card front leaving 1/8" between the edges of the paper and the top, right, and bottom sides of the card front.  A piece of Soft Seafoam cardstock was embossed with the rows of leaves folder from the Greener Embossing Folders and adhered along the left side of the card front leaving 1/8" between the edges of the Soft Seafoam cardstock and the top, left, and bottom sides of the card front.

The two longest leaf images were stamped on Basic White cardstock using Old Olive and Garden Green ink.  The leaf images were die cut using the corresponding dies from the Forever Flourishing dies.  A piece of Gold Foil Sheets was die cut with the second largest detailed leaf die.  The three leaf dies were adhered near the right center of the embossed Soft Seafoam cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid adhesive.

The "you can do this" greeting was stamped on a strip of Basic White cardstock using Garden green ink.  The smallest of the fern stamps was inked with Soft Seafoam ink, stamped off on a piece of scrap paper, and stamped over the greeting a couple of times.  Both ends of the strip of paper were punched with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch using the ornate curves slot of the punch.  Both ends of a strip of Garden Green cardstock was punched with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch using the flat ends slot of the punch.  A thin strip of Gold Foil Sheets was adhered across the center of the Garden Green punched strip and then the Basic White punched greeting was adhered, centered, over the Garden Green punched strip.  The greeting label was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals with the right end of the label flush with the right side of the Designer Series Paper and the bottom edge of the label 3/4" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper and embossed cardstock.

Three rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels were adhered to the card front to create a visual triangle around the ferns.

ForeverFern_YouCanDoThis_Inside

The two fern stamp images used for the card front were stamped at the upper left corner of a piece of Basic White cardstock using Garden Green and Old Olive inks.  The Basic White cardstock was adhered at the center of the inside sentiment area of the card base.

ForeverFern_YouCanDoThis_Envelope

The two fern stamp images were stamped at the lower left front corner of the Medium Basic White Envelope using Garden Green and Old Olive inks.

I made this card for a swap with my upline, downline, and sideline friends in the 3-2-1 Stamp Team of demonstrators in June 2020 when the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog was introduced.  At that time, I was feeling rather overwhelmed with the rapid, unsettling changes caused by the pandemic.  It seemed that I was telling myself "you can do this" a hundred times a day as I challenged myself to consistently find the positive in such a depressing and frightening situation.  Now that many more months have passed, I'm still telling myself "you can do this" but as every day passes it becomes easier to find the positives.  It may be because I've become used to the lifestyle changes imposed by the pandemic; but I'd rather believe that it's because I formed a healthy habit of focusing on the positive.
