Hello! Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Dashing Deer stamp set. Thanks so much for stopping by!
The Stamp Review Crew is an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who gather for a blog hop the first, third, and (sometimes the fifth) Mondays of the month to review a single stamp set. The number of participants varies from hop to hop, but the ideas are plentiful as we take a stamp set through its paces. By the time you've traveled through the hop, you are sure to find a number of innovative ways to use the featured stamp set. So sit back, relax, and get ready to start pinning ideas to your Pinterest board!

If you've already joined the hop and are traveling forward, you've arrived from Kelly's blog where you were presented with an amazing project to inspire your creativity. If you're traveling backwards through the hop, you've seen Debra's project and are ready to CASE! (Copy And Share Everything)
One of the most beautiful stamps introduced in the 2018 Holiday Catalog is the large deer in the Dashing Deer stamp set. I just love the beautiful details etched into the red rubber of the stamp that translate into an amazing stamped image. For this card, I couldn't help but use it as the focal point.
This card begins with a card base of Real Red cardstock. A piece of the All is Bright Designer Series Paper was matted with a slightly larger piece of Gold Foil Sheets and then adhered at the center of the card front. A length of Striped Burlap ribbon was folded under at the left end (using Mini Glue Dots to hold the fold in place) with a banner tail cut into the right end of the ribbon. The ribbon was adhered across the Designer Series Paper using Mini Glue Dots with the top edge of the ribbon 2" below the top edge of the Designer Series Paper.
A piece of the All is Bright Designer Series Paper (the reverse side of the piece already adhered to the card front) was die cut with the Big Shot using the 2-7/8" circle framelit and matted with a piece of Gold Foil Sheets die cut with the Big Shot using the 3" scallop circle framelit -- both framelits from the Layering Circles Framelits. The circles were adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals with the left edge of the circles 1/4" from the left edge of the Designer Series Paper and the top edge of the circles 5/8" from the top edge of the Designer Series Paper.
The large deer image was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Crumb Cake ink and die cut with the Big Shot using the corresponding framelit from the Detailed Deer Thinlits. The deer was adhered to the circles using Stampin' Dimensionals (deer body) and Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (head and antlers).
The "Happiest Christmas Wishes" greeting was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Real Red ink. The greeting was die cut from the cardstock using the Big Shot with the large sentiment framelit from the Merry Christmas Thinlits. The greeting was matted with a piece of Gold Foil Sheets die cut with the same sentiment framelit. However, the sentiment framelit was cut in half horizontally with the top half adhered behind the top half of the sentiment die cut and the bottom half adhered behind the bottom half of the sentiment die cut with 1/16" of the Gold Foil Sheets die cut extending above and below the sentiment. The sentiment was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals with the right and bottom edges of the sentiment 1/4" from the right and bottom edges of the Designer Series Paper.
The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock. The "Remembering you this season with warm thoughts and a wish for everything merry." sentiment was stamped at the upper center of the liner using Real Red ink. A strip of Designer Series Paper was adhered across the bottom edge of the liner with the left, bottom, and right edges of the Designer Series Paper flush with the left, bottom, and right edges of the liner. A thin strip of the reverse side of the Designer Series Paper was adhered across the top edge of the Designer Series Paper with the left and right edges of the thin strip flush with the left and right edges of the liner and the top edge of the thin strip flush with the top edge of the wider strip of Designer Series Paper. The smaller solid deer image was stamped along the top left edge of the Designer Series Paper strips using Crumb Cake ink.
The "Happiest Christmas Wishes" sentiment was stamped along the bottom left front corner of the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope using Real Red ink. The small solid deer was stamped above "Happiest" using Crumb Cake ink.
Before I finish up this blog post, I want to mention that this is the first time I've used Designer Series Paper with photographic images for the prints as I worried that using the photograph in the background would overtake the focal point on the card front. I'm glad to find out that my worries were groundless. What I learned was that the print on the reverse side of the photographic print is a wonderful complement to the photograph making coordination with the photograph side of the paper amazingly easy. I'm definitely going to be giving this type of Designer Series Paper a much closer look in the future!
