Stamp Review Crew -- Beautiful Bouquet

Stamp Review Crew blog banner

Hello!  Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

The Stamp Review Crew is an international group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who gather for a blog hop the first and third Mondays of the month to review a single stamp set.  The number of participants varies from hop to hop, but the ideas are plentiful as we take a stamp set through its paces.  By the time you've traveled through the hop, you are sure to find a number of innovative ways to use the featured stamp set.  So sit back, relax, and get ready to start pinning ideas to your Pinterest board!

To see the line up of artists for this week's hop, click here.  If you've already joined the hop and are traveling forward, you've arrived from Bronwyn's blog where you were presented with an amazing project to inspire your creativity.  If you're traveling backwards through the hop, you've seen Nikki's project and are ready to CASE! I have a love affair with flowers.  I love the colors, shapes, textures, and smells.  Flowers just make me happy.  Needless to say, a stamp set with a variety of flowers appeals to me on a number of levels.  Especially when I can use them to create a bouquet of bright colors.

BeautifulBouquet_Congratulations

This card begins with a panel of Whisper White cardstock.  The flower stem with branches was stamped three times at varying heights, with the stems crossing 1/2" from the bottom center of the panel, using Granny Apple Green ink.  The small single leaf was stamped along each of the long stems, also using Granny Apple Green ink.  The coordinating filler flower bunch was stamped over each of the stems using Petal Pink ink.  [Tip:  The Beautiful Bouquet stamp set is photopolymer.  To achieve the best stamping results, place the Stampin' Pierce Mat below the cardstock.]  The panel was matted with a slightly larger panel of Poppy Parade cardstock and adhered near the top of a panel of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper with the left, top, and right edges of the Poppy Parade cardstock 1/8" from the left, top, and right sides of the Designer Series Paper.  The Designer Series Paper was matted with a slightly larger piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.

A strip of Whisper White cardstock was randomly stamped with the cluster of four petal flowers using Petal Pink ink stamped off once before stamping on the cardstock.  The strip was punched with the Decorative Ribbon Border punch.  The punched strip was adhered along the left edge of the Bermuda Bay panel so that the border extends beyond the left side of the Bermuda Bay cardstock.  The panels were adhered to the So Saffron card front with the top, right, and bottom edges of the Bermuda Bay cardstock 1/8" from the top, right, and bottom edges of the card front.

The cluster of four petal flowers was randomly stamped across a small strip of Whisper White cardstock using Petal Pink ink stamped off once before stamping on the cardstock.  The "Congratulations" greeting was stamped at the center of the strip using Bermuda Bay ink.  Banner tails were cut into the right and left ends of the strip to create a banner.  The banner was adhered below the Whisper White/Poppy Parade panel using Stampin' Dimensionals with the top of the banner 3/8" from the bottom of the Poppy Parade cardstock and the bottom of the banner 1/2" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper.

The cluster of 4 petal flowers framelit was used with the Big Shot to die cut 2 pieces of Poppy Parade cardstock, 2 pieces of Bermuda Bay cardstock, and 1 piece of So Saffron cardstock.  One of each color was adhered over the Petal Pink flowers on the Whisper White/Poppy Parade panel using teeny tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid adhesive.  The remaining die cuts are set aside for the liner at the inside sentiment area of the card.

The cluster of 5 petal flowers framelit from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits was used with the Big Shot to die cut 2 pieces of Poppy Parade cardstock, 3 pieces of So Saffron cardstock, and 1 piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Two Poppy Parade, 2 So Saffron, and 1 Bermuda Bay die cuts were adhered over the 4 petal flower die cuts using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals cut into smaller pieces.  The remaining 5 petal flower die cut was set aside for the inside sentiment area of the card.  The 5 petal flower die cuts were brushed with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush ink.

Three pieces of Linen Thread were formed into a single bow and adhered over the flower stems where they all cross using a rolled up Mini Glue Dot.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The flower stem with branches was stamped twice at varying heights, with the stems crossing at the lower left edge of the panel, using Granny Apple Green ink.  The coordinating filler flower bunch was stamped over each of the stems using Petal Pink ink.  The Poppy Parade and Bermuda Bay 4 petal flower die cuts were adhered over the filler flowers using teeny tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid adhesive.  The So Saffron 5 petal flower die cut was adhered over the 4 petal flower die cuts using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals cut into smaller pieces.  The 5 petal flower die cut was brushed with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  The "Wishing You A Day of Love and Happy Memories" sentiment was stamped at the upper center of the liner using Bermuda Bay ink.

BeautifulBouquet_Congratulations_Envelope

The envelope flap of the Medium Whisper White Envelope was randomly stamped with the 4 petal flower cluster using Petal Pink ink stamped off before stamping on the envelope flap.  The "Congratulations" greeting was stamped at the center of the flap using Bermuda Bay ink.  [Tip:  Place a scrap of paper between the envelope flap and the body of the envelope to ensure that the stamping is restricted only to the envelope flap.]

One of the great things about a Color Revamp is that new colors are introduced to the Stampin' Up! palette and some In Colors return.  For me, this means that I get to figure out new color combinations.  Most of the time I use the colors featured in the Designer Series Paper that I use.  However, since this card didn't use a multi-color Designer Series Paper, I got to do some thinking about what colors could work together--a very fun challenge.  When I finished the card, I was reminded of a rustic wedding venue.  What do you think?  Does this color combination appeal to you?

The 2018-2019 Annual Catalog is Here! Love What You Do

Hi There!

Yesterday the 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog went live with a whole lot of great new product to jump start your creative juices.  To see all the great new items, click on the catalog icon on the right sidebar of this blog page.  I just finished placing my order and the list was pretty long.  I can't wait to play!

The Share What You Love Suite is one of the great new product suites from the catalog and was offered in May as a Sneak Peek.  Here's a card using many of the items.  This card was designed for a card swap with members of my Stampin' Up! demonstrator team -- upline, downline, and sidelines.  I love participating in these swaps because I get to receive a whole lot of great product samples created by some seriously talented artists.

LoveWhatYouDo

Now that the Stampin' Blends Markers are back in stock, I wanted to use them to color the trio of flowers at the focal point for this card.  I really like how the Rich Razzleberry stands out on the soft Mint Macaron.

This card begins with a piece of Rich Razzleberry striped paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper matted with a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock and adhered at the center of the Mint Macaron card front.  A Pearlized Doily was adhered near the lower right corner of the Designer Series Paper with the bottom of the doily 1/2" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper and the right edge of the doily 1/16" from the right edge of the Designer Series Paper.

The background image from the Love What You Do stamp set was stamped at the center of a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock using Mint Macaron ink.  The "love what you do" sentiment was stamped near the lower right corner of the cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  [Tip:  The Love What You Do stamp set is a photopolymer stamp set.  For best stamping results, place the Stampin' Pierce Mat below the cardstock.]

The flower trio image was stamped on a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black cardstock.  The center flower was inked and stamped on a small piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock.  The Light and Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Markers were used to color the flowers, the Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker was used for the stems of the flowers, and the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker was used to color the bottom of the flowers at the top of the stems.  [Tip:  Run the brush tip of the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Marker along the side of the cut edges of the flowers and stems to remove the white cut edges.]

The trio of flowers was cut out with Paper Snips and adhered across the stamped Mint Macaron background image.  The single center flower was cut out with Paper Snips and adhered over the center flower adhered over the stamped background image using a Stampin' Dimensional.  A piece of Rich Razzleberry Velvet ribbon was adhered across the focal point between the top of the sentiment and the bottom of the lower flower.  The right edge of the ribbon was cut at an angle and the left edge of the ribbon was adhered behind the cardstock.  The focal point was adhered at the center of a slightly larger piece of Basic Black cardstock using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The focal point was adhered to the card front with the top and right sides of the Basic Black cardstock 1/2" from the top and right sides of the Designer Series Paper.  Rich Razzleberry, Tranquil Tide, and Petal Pink pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls were adhered to the focal point to create a visual triangle.

LoveWhatYouDo_Liner

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The open dot filler flower image was stamped twice near the lower left corner of the liner using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The insides of the open dots were colored with the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker.  The grouping of five four-petal flowers was stamped along the left edge of the liner using Mint Macaron ink.  A thin strip of Basic Black cardstock was adhered behind the top edge of a strip of Rich Razzleberry striped paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and then adhered across the bottom of the liner.  The "Do Something Creative Every Day" sentiment from the Crafting Forever stamp set was stamped at the upper center of the liner using Rich Razzleberry ink.

LoveWhatYouDo_Envelope

The envelope flap of the Medium Whisper White Envelope was randomly stamped with the open dot filler flower image using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The open dots were filled with the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends Marker.  [Tip:  Place a scrap piece of paper between the envelope flap and body of the envelope to ensure that the stamped images reside only on the envelope flap.  ALSO, keep the scrap paper in place while coloring with the Stampin' Blends Marker to keep the ink from bleeding onto the body of the envelope.]

I've been spending lots of time in the last few weeks re-organizing my crafting area to pull out the retired products to make way for all the great new items.  I can't wait to begin using all the great new colors--including the returning colors like the Mint Macaron used for this card.

Card Measurements --
