Inky Friends A Fond Farewell Blog Hop -- So Many Shells

Banner

Welcome to the Inky Friends A Fond Farewell Blog Hop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators who have gathered to share projects featuring a stamp set in our stash that will be retiring on May 31st.  To see the line up of Stampin' Up! artists participating in the hop, click here.  If you are traveling forward through the hop, you've arrived from Sara's blog where she featured projects using the Garden in Bloom stamp set.  If you are traveling backwards through the hop, you just saw some great projects made by Tanya using the Little One stamp set.  It really doesn't matter which way you travel through the blog hop, though; all the blogs are linked in a circle and eventually you'll visit all the stops by clicking on the NEXT or PREVIOUS buttons contained in every blog post.  I hope you enjoy your travels!

The So Many Shells stamp set has some truly lovely words and phrases for meaningful messages, so I thought that I would make some note cards using the stamp set, some odds and ends of embellishments on my work table, and some paper from the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

My first card layers the Gold Metallic Edge ribbon over a strip of Burlap ribbon to "ground" the shells.  The Crumb Cake cardstock behind the shells was randomly stamped with the splotch from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

Supplies I used to make this card --

Stamps:  So Many Shells, Timeless Textures; Inks:  Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Pink Pirouette, Powder Pink, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky; Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla; Designer Series Paper:  Bundle of Love Specialty; Embellishments:  Burlap ribbon, Gold Metallic Edge ribbon; Adhesives:  SNAIL, Mini Glue Dots, Stampin' Dimensionals; Tools:  Stampin' Trimmer, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Big Shot w/Magnetic Platform, Layering Ovals Framelits; Other:  Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes

My second card uses the greeting to "ground" the shells to the card front.  The greeting was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock randomly stamped with the splotch from the Timeless Textures stamp set.

My final card uses two strips of Burlap ribbon and some Gold Mini Sequin Trim to frame the greeting and to "ground" the shells.  The splotch from Timeless Textures was randomly stamped on the Crumb Cake cardstock prior to stamping the greeting.

What a fun group of cards! I love how the DSP is reminiscent of the designs on some of the shells I have seen. It gives a fresh pop to the feel of this set.

Wonderful cards! I like how they are similar, yet each is unique.

I love the one with the "Seas the Day" sentiment! Your DSP is so bright and pretty with the shells. What great cards!

I love how the stamped Timeless Textures backgrounds look like sand....so perfect for the sea shells. Beautifully done, Mickey!
