Inky Friends Design Challenge #2 -- Celebrate Amazing You
01/25/2018
Hello!
Welcome to Inky Friends Design Challenge #2. Every 4th Friday of the month a new design challenge is posted. This time we are using a color combo of Soft Sky, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist.
Using page 35 of the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for inspiration, I decided to create a gift box using the Lots to Love Box Framelits and decorate it with one of the great Sale-A-Bration stamp sets, Amazing You (one of the many great items you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order of $50 USD in Stampin' Up! merchandise).
This gift box begins with two pieces of Soft Sky cardstock die cut with the Big Shot using the Lots to Love Box Framelits. The two pieces were folded at the score lines and then one side of the box adhered together. The outside panels of the box was opened flat on the work surface and the "celebrate" image was stamped across the panels using Soft Sky ink. Then the remaining side of the box was adhered and the top and bottom of the box closed.
A belly band was created with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist paper from the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack. The paper was finger folded around the box with the ends adhered together at the front center of the box. A piece of Berry Burst Finely Woven ribbon was wrapped around the belly band with the ends of the ribbon adhered to the belly band at the front center of the box.
A piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the flower image from the Amazing You Sale-A-Bration stamp set using Soft Sky ink, the "celebrate" image above the flower (justified to the left) using Berry Burst ink, and the "YOU" image stamped below the flower (justified to the right) using Berry Burst ink. The "amazing" image was stamped on a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock using Lemon Lime Twist ink and cut out with Paper Snips. The image was adhered across the flower using teeny tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid adhesive. The Whisper White cardstock was matted with a slightly larger piece of Berry Burst cardstock and adhered to the belly band using Stampin' Dimensionals. Note that the cardstock focal point covers the paper and ribbon ends of the belly band.
Now just slide off the belly band and fill the box with goodies for a quick and easy gift!
Are you inspired to create with this color combination?? I hope so! And when you do, please share your creation with the Inky Friends! Each challenge will run for two weeks and at the end we'll pick a winning project. Here's how it works:
- Every 4th Friday of the month a new sketch can be found on the Inky Friends blog by clicking HERE
- Because this is a color challenge, the colors you must use are Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, and Soft Sky (you can use compatible colors and add neutrals as needed)
- Create something new that has not been posted before
- Post your creation on your blog or online gallery and please provide a link back to our challenge to the Inky Friends blog – provide a direct link to your project or post to the Linky which you can find at the END of our Inky Friends blog post
- YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS TO PLAY ALONG – then the challenge will be closed and WE PICK A WINNER – it could be you!
I can't wait to see what you'll make!

Love how you stamped the celebrate word all over the box and love the subtle soft sky flower in the background of the sentiment. The colors are so vibrant together. What a great birthday package!

That background with the "celebrate" repeated is awesome! Um, do you need my address to send the box of chocolates? :D
