Snowflake Sentiments -- Wrapped in the Warmth of Christmas

Hi There!

Today's a big day in the Stampin' Up! world.  It's the debut of the Holiday Catalog!  Therefore, today's post is a card I designed for a 3-2-1 Stamp Team full card swap using items from the Holiday Catalog.

My BFF, Terry, is a HUGE fan of snowflakes as she grew up in the Northeast.  She also attends my Christmas card classes each year; so I look for an item from the Holiday Catalog that features snowflakes.  This year's Holiday Catalog has a few items that feature snowflakes and you'll find them in the card below.

This card begins with a card base of Old Olive.  A panel of Real Red cardstock, slightly smaller than the card front, was adhered at the center of the card front.

A piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the label outline image from the Labels to Love stamp set using Old Olive ink.  The "Wrapped in the Warmth of Christmas" sentiment, from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set was stamped at the center of the label image using Real Red ink.  The 1/8" handheld circle punch was used to punch holes just inside the label outline at the center right and left edges of the label image.  Then the label image was punched from the cardstock with the Everyday Label punch.  A piece of Red Mini Tinsel Trim was folded in half and inserted into the hole at one side of the punched label, the ends threaded through the hole on the opposite side, and the loop snugged up against the cardstock.  This process was repeated for the opposite side of the label.  Stampin' Dimensionals were adhered at the back of the label.

A panel of Shimmery White cardstock was embossed with the Big Shot using the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The greeting label was adhered at the center of the embossed snowflake, the ends of the Mini Tinsel Trim folded to the back of the embossed cardstock, and the Tinsel Trim adhered to the back of the cardstock with Mini Glue Dots.  The embossed cardstock was adhered at the center of the card front using Foam Adhesive Strips (an alternate would be Stampin' Dimensionals; however, I like the Foam Adhesive Strips when raising a panel this large on a card front because the foam used for the foam strips doesn't compact as easily as the foam used for the Stampin' Dimensionals).

The large and small snowflake thinlits, from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits, were used to die cut Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Big Shot:  three large snowflakes and three small snowflakes.  A small snowflake was adhered at the center of a large snowflake with a Mini Glue Dot to create three snowflake embellishments.  These embellishments were adhered to the card front using Mini Glue Dots placed at the back of the large snowflake.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The "May the miracle of Christmas fill your heart with joy." sentiment, from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set,  was stamped near the upper center of the liner using Old Olive ink.  The three snowflake image, also from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set, was stamped above and below the sentiment using Real Red ink.

The large snowflake thinlit was used to die cut Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper with the Big Shot.  This snowflake was adhered near the upper left corner of the liner with a Mini Glue Dot.

The "Merry Christmas from our family to yours" greeting, from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set, was stamped near the upper center of the envelope flap of the Medium Whisper White Envelope using Old Olive ink.  The three snowflake image was stamped below the greeting using Real Red ink.

I can't wait to show Terry this card.  The large snowflake embossed on Shimmery White cardstock is really beautiful--the photo just doesn't capture the sparkle embedded into the cardstock.

Love your beautiful card -- and so grateful to get one in our swap. And as a Floridian who misses snowflakes -- I love having paper ones.
