Flourishing Phrases -- Brighten up the World

Happy Friday!

Thanks for stopping by!  Today's post presents the third card I featured during Monday's Stamp Review Crew blog hop to showcase the seriously versatile Flourishing Phrases stamp set.  If you haven't had a chance to see what 14 Stampin' Up! Demonstrator artists can do with this stamp set, you really need to take a tour through the hop.  To see the blog hop lineup, click here; to go to the first stop on the hop, click here.

When I looked through the new catalog for the first time, this stamp set really grabbed me because of the beautifully coordinated greetings and sentiments.  I just love, love, LOVE them!  I think my favorite is the one that I used for this card.

This card begins with a card base of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock.  A panel of Whisper White cardstock was randomly stamped with the floral image from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set using Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum inks.  A Delicate White Doily was adhered along the right edge of the Whisper White panel with part of the right side of the doily hanging over the right edge of the panel and the bottom edge of the doily approximately 1/4" above the bottom edge of the panel.  The overhang was trimmed off with Paper Snips and a piece of Sweet Sugarplum 3/8" Ruched ribbon was wrapped around the panel and doily with the bottom edge of the ribbon approximately 1-1/2" from the bottom edge of the panel and the ribbon knot just left of center.  The panel was matted with a slightly larger piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock and adhered at the center of the card front.

The "God Wanted to Brighten Up the World..." greeting was stamped on a 7/8" wide piece of Whisper White cardstock with the right edge of the greeting at the right edge of the cardstock.  The left edge of the cardstock was centered within the 1" slot of the Triple Banner punch and the left edge punched to create a banner 2-3/8" long (which means that the starting size of the cardstock piece needs to be 7/8" x 2-5/8" as 1/4" is lost when the banner tail is punched).  The greeting banner was matted with a piece of Peekaboo Peach cardstock measuring 1" x 2-3/4" prior to being punched in the 1" slot of the Triple Banner punch.  The two pieces were adhered at the centers matching the right edges of the two banners.  A 1-1/2" x 3" piece of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock was punched with the Triple Banner punch using the 1-1/2" slot.  The two smaller banners were adhered at the center of the Sweet Sugarplum banner matching the right edges.  The banners were adhered over the doily with the bottom edge of the Sweet Sugarplum banner just above the top edge of the ribbon and matching the right edge of the banners with the right edge of the Whisper White panel.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the floral image stamped three times along the lower left edge of the liner using Flirty Flamingo (bottom), Peekaboo Peach (middle) and Sweet Sugarplum (top) inks.  The "So He Made You" sentiment was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched with the Classic Label punch.  A scrap of Peekaboo Peach cardstock was punched with the Classic Label punch and the punched sentiment was adhered to the Peekaboo Peach label using the Peekaboo Peach label as a drop shadow.  The sentiment was adhered near the upper center of the liner.

The envelope flap of the Medium Whisper White Envelope was randomly stamped with the large floral image using Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Sweet Sugarplum inks.  To keep the ink confined to the envelope flap, a scrap piece of copy paper was placed below the flap on top of the body of the envelope.

I hope you have a wonderful Summer weekend!  It's been pretty hot here in East Central Florida this week with little rain to cool things down in the afternoons.  Staying inside in the A/C stamping is definitely the preferred alternative to the heat!

Have a great weekend!
