It's a rainy kind of day in East Central Florida and I'm OK with that. The yard and the plants need a healthy dose of rain and I sure do hope they get it.
Today's post is a card I designed for my October stamp clubs. At this time of year, when all the things we need to get done seem to become somewhat overwhelming, it's always a good idea to remind myself that I have a great deal to be thankful for.
This card begins with a card base of Soft Suede cardstock. A piece of Old Olive cardstock was embossed part way down in the Big Shot using the Delicate Dots Textured Impressions embossing folder. A piece of Into the Woods Designer Series Paper was adhered over the non-embossed area. Old Olive ink was sponged along the edges of the Old Olive cardstock, including the three edges of the Designer Series Paper, and then the inked sponge was lightly rubbed over the raised embossing to bring it into higher relief. A length of Early Espresso 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon was wrapped around the Old Olive cardstock to disguise the transition between the Designer Series Paper and the embossed cardstock and knotted on the left side. The Old Olive cardstock was adhered at the center of the card front.
A piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the large watercolor wash image from the For All Things stamp set using Daffodil Delight ink. The "Give Thanks..." sentiment was stamped over the watercolor wash using Early Espresso ink. The edges of the Whisper White cardstock were sponged with Soft Suede ink and adhered at the center of a piece of Tangelo Twist cardstock (the edges also sponged with Soft Suede ink). The sentiment was adhered near the upper right of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Some sequins were removed from the Gold Sequin Trim and adhered randomly on the embossed Old Olive cardstock and the sentiment using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
The inside sentiment area was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. A strip of Into the Woods Designer Series Paper was adhered along the top edge of the liner and the edges of the liner were sponged with Soft Suede ink. The banner watercolor wash image was stamped near the upper center of the liner using Daffodil Delight ink and the "Grateful for you" sentiment was stamped over the watercolor wash centering the "Grateful" inside the banner. The three acorn image was inked with Soft Suede and Early Espresso Stampin' Write Markers and stamped along the lower left side and bottom of the liner.
The three acorn image was inked with Soft Suede and Early Espresso markers and stamped along the left front edge of the Medium Whisper White envelope.
I encourage you to remember and focus on all the blessings you have in your life. We tend to take these blessings very much for granted. Take the time to thank those who bless your life in big and small ways. They will appreciate the recognition and you will come away with a full heart and renewed focus.
Before I forget, a number of very talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators have formed the Stamp Review Crew. Their most recent review was of the For All Things stamp set. I was tickled that this blog hop occurred the weekend I was featuring this stamp set for my clubs. I've included a link to Jennifer Timko's blog: one of the stops along the blog hop. You'll find some really wonderful ideas that use the stamp set featured in this post.
Have a great day!
