Lacy & Lovely Thank You Cards

Hello there!

Where does the time go?  I have the best of intentions for posting projects; however, the available time in the day just keeps disappearing.  Argh!

Today I'd like to share a couple of Thank You cards I made for the great folks who placed orders in August.  Both cards use the same technique to make the focal point flower.  Here's the card for Terry's workshop.

I learned how to make the flower during a class at the Stampin' Up! Convention in July and thought it would be fun to use that new-to-me technique for these cards.  This card begins with a card base of Crumb Cake.  A piece of Midnight Muse cardstock was scored three times along each side of the panel beginning at 3/8" from the edge of the cardstock before the panel was adhered to the card front.  The flower stem is a 1/4" strip of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper stamped with the paisley flower image from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set using Gumball Green ink.  The leaf image from the Language of Friendship stamp set was inked using the brush tip of the Gumball Green Stampin' Write Marker and stamped twice on First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper and punched out with the Bird Builder punch.  The punched leaves were adhered to the back of the flower stem and the stem adhered to the Midnight Muse panel with the bottom of the stem aligned with the bottom edge and the left side of the stem approximately 1" from the left edge of the panel.  A bow created from Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon was attached to the stem just below the leaves with a Mini Glue Dot.  The "Thank You" image from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set was stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Midnight Muse ink and punched out with the Large Oval punch.  The sentiment was adhered to a piece of Summer Starfruit cardstock punched with the Scallop Oval punch and adhered to the right of the flower stem using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The flower begins with a piece of Primrose Petals cardstock punched with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch and adhered near the top of the flower stem so that the top of the punched cardstock is approximately 1/4" from the top edge and extending just a smidge off the left edge of the Midnight Muse panel.  The large lace image from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set was stamped four times on First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper using Raspberry Ripple ink and punched out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch.  The edges of each of the punched scallop circles was rolled up with the Bone Folder and folded in fourths to create a triangular shape WITHOUT flattening the folds (just pinch the point with thumb and forefinger).  A dime sized drop of Tombow Multi Adhesive was placed at the center of the Primrose Petals 2 3/8" Scallop Circle and the four triangle points were pressed into the drop of adhesive so that the scalloped edges are facing toward the outside edge of the Primrose Petals 2 3/8" Scallop Circle.  The 1 1/4" doodle circle image from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set was stamped on a piece of Summer Starfruit cardstock and punched out with the largest flower on the Boho Blossoms punch and pressed into place at the center of the scallop circle flower.  A Raspberry Ripple In Color Dahlia was adhered at the center of the Summer Starfruit cardstock using a Mini Glue Dot.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  The paisley flower image from the Lacy & Lovely stamp set was stamped near the lower left corner of the liner using Summer Starfruit ink.  The doodle circle image was stamped on First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper using Gumball Green ink (stamped once on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on the Designer Series Paper), punched out with the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, and adhered at the center of the paisley flower.  The small 8-petal flower was stamped on First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper using Midnight Muse ink, cut out using Paper Snips, and adhered at the center of the 1 1/4" scallop circle.  A strip of First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper was randomly stamped with the doodle circle image using Gumball Green ink (stamped once on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on the Designer Series Paper), the paisley flower image using Summer Starfruit ink, and the 8-petal flower using Midnight Muse ink.  One edge of the strip was punched with the Scallop Edge Border punch and adhered along the top edge of the liner.

The doodle circle image, paisley flower image, and 8-petal flower images were stamped at the lower left front corner of the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope using Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, and Midnight Muse inks, respectively.

A couple of weeks later, the SASS Stamp Club met for the first time for the 2012-2013 Catalog year.  It was great to see everyone again and catch up.  I'm so thankful for all of them and their support of my Stampin' Up! business.  I used the same design for their Thank You cards with a few changes.

Here are the differences on the card front:  1.  The card base for this card is Summer Starfruit cardstock.  2.  The base of the flower is the top of the ribbon image from the Blue Ribbon stamp set stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Raspberry Ripple ink, punched out with the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, and the edges sponged with Raspberry Ripple ink.  3.  The four large lace images were punched out with the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch.  4.  The doodle circle image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock and punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch and the center of the image punched out with the scallop circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  The 1 1/4" circle was pressed over the center of the flower and the small scallop circle set aside.  5.  The 8-petal flower was stamped on First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut out with Paper Snips, and adhered to the center of the doodle circle.  6.  The small scallop circle was placed at the center of the 8-petal flower.  7.  The "Thank You" image was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Raspberry Ripple ink, punched out with the Scallop Oval punch, and adhered to a piece of Raspberry Ripple cardstock punched with the Extra-Large Oval punch.  8.  A Summer Starfruit bow was placed on the flower stem in between the leaves.
