Blossoms & Smooches in a Fun Fold

Hello!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I spent a couple a large part of the weekend at a dog show in Orlando supporting my sister who had a Shih Tzu showing on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  The great news is that her beautiful little girl, Mona, obtained her final three points for Champion.  I'm so excited for my sister and Mona.  Here's a recent photo of Mona.  Her AKC name is Champion Dancee Mona Midnight Dream.  Isn't she gorgeous!?!

One of my favorite things about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is that I have access to a wonderful group of demonstrators led by my Stampin' Up! upline, Catherine Harwood.  Catherine makes sure that we have all the encouragement and mentoring that we need to help us to be successful in our own Stampin' Up! businesses while maintaining and growing her own Stampin' Up! business.  One of the ways that she does this is by hosting a monthly downline meeting.  All demonstrators in Catherine's downline are invited and she uses this forum to keep us up to date on Stampin' Up! home office information, tips and lively discussion for effective workshops and classes, and encourages us to bring samples of our recent projects to share with the group.  Of course, we also stamp!  Catherine presents us with a variety of techniques to help us widen our stamping repertoire so that we can keep our customers interested in continuing to use Stampin' Up! products.

Here's a project that Catherine shared at a downline meeting a couple of months ago.  It was just so darn cute, I just had to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it for the SASS Stamp Club for the June meeting.

This type of card format is called a Love Note.  Because of its small size, 3" x 3", it can be tucked into lunch boxes, briefcases, or a sweater pocket for a fun surprise.  The great thing about this card is that there's a fun surprise when you open it, too!

This card begins with a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut to 3" x 6" and a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper cut to 3" x 6".  The Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper was scored at 1 1/2", 3", and 4 1/2" along the 6" length.  The scored paper was inserted into the paper slot of the Large Oval punch and the 3" score line was lined up with the center of the punch window and the oval punched from the center of the paper.  The paper was placed on top of the Whisper White cardstock and the oval was traced onto the Whisper White cardstock using a pencil.  The images from the Bright Blossoms stamp set were inked with Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers and stamped inside the oval on the Whisper White cardstock.  [Note:  the images can run slightly outside the pencil oval because when the paper is adhered to the cardstock the eye can see more than just the oval area.]  The sentiment, from the Petite Pairs stamp set, was stamped adjacent to the floral images using Island Indigo ink.

Once the ink has dried, the pencil line was erased and the Whisper White cardstock was folded to create a 3" x 3" card with the stamped images on the inside of the card.  The Designer Series Paper was folded along the score lines in mountain and valley folds with the punched oval at the center a mountain fold.  SNAIL was placed on the back of the left panel of the folded Designer Series Paper up to the score line at 1 1/2".  The left, top, and bottom edges of the Designer Series Paper were lined up with the left, top, and bottom edges of the inside of the card.  SNAIL was applied to the back of the right panel of the folded Designer Series Paper up to the score line at 4 1/2".  The right, top, and bottom edges of the Designer Series Paper were lined up with the right, top, and bottom edges of the inside of the card.  If you look at the top edge of the card in the photo below, you can see the folded Designer Series Paper adhered to the inside of the card.

The card front begins with a piece of Island Indigo cardstock cut to 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".  The cardstock was inserted into the oval frame of the Designer Frames Textured Impressions embossing folder and run through the Big Shot.  Note that the frame is centered between the top and bottom edges of the cardstock and the right edge of the frame is approximately 1/8" from the right edge of the cardstock.  A piece of Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the left side of the cardstock and knotted on front.  The cardstock was adhered, centered, to the card front using Mini Glue Dots.  The dotted tag frame image, from the Tiny Tags stamp set, was stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tangerine Tango ink.  The "friends" image, also from the Tiny Tags stamp set, was stamped inside the tag frame using Rich Razzleberry ink.  The 1/16" hole punch was used to punch the hole at the top of the tag and then the tag was punched out using the Medium Jewelry Tag punch.  A piece of Island Indigo Baker's Twine was threaded through the hole at the top of the tag, wrapped around the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon near the knot, and tied in a bow.  Paper Snips were used to trim the ends of the Baker's Twine.

Floral images from the Bright Blossoms stamp set were inked with Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, and Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Markers and stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The stamped image was punched out using the Large Oval punch and placed at the center of the embossed oval frame on the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The floral images were inked a second time and stamped at the lower left front corner of the Whisper White Mini Square Envelope.

A couple of months ago, Stampin' Up! revamped the Starter Kit for new demonstrators and reduced the price to $99.00 with FREE shipping.  The best part of this, however, is that ALL the items in the Starter Kit are chosen by the demonstrator.  This means that if you were signing up to be a demonstrator, you'd be choosing $125.00 of Stampin' Up! merchandise and paying $99.00.  How cool is that??!!  AND Stampin' Up! includes all your business supplies for FREE.  That's nearly $200.00 worth of great stuff for only $99.00.  If you've ever considered becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, the opportunity has never had a better price.  Also, if you sign up by June 30th, you'll receive the Make a Cake stamp set, coordinating Patio Party Designer Series Paper, and Patio Party Digital Collection DVD for FREE!  That's up to $48.00 in additional FREE products!
