A Vintage (Type) Birthday Card
Hanging Pennants

Butterflies & Doilies

Yesterday I mentioned that I had a couple of cards to share with you before we get to the end of Sale-A-Bration.  Yesterday's card focused on items that were designed specifically for Sale-A-Bration.  Today's card features a stamp set that you can find in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog that is available for FREE (with a qualifying merchandise order) only during Sale-A-Bration:  Kindness Matters.  This is one of the first stamp sets that I purchased when the new catalog was released because the images were just so lovely.  Unfortunately, I let it get buried under other stuff and forgot all about it until I saw it again in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  Bad Mickey!

I love the Pink/Brown color combination; it's just so fun!  This card begins with a card base of Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Randomly stamped with Versamark ink across the card front is a pretty doily image from the Delicate Doilies stamp set.  I chose this image because it is contained in the lacy print of the Pretty in Pink paper I chose from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper to create the focal point.  The paper was matted with Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink cardstocks and adhered to the card front with SNAIL.

The medallion at the center of the focal point begins with a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock stamped with the butterflies image from the Kindness Matters stamp set using Versamark ink.  The "Thanks" and flourish image were stamped over the center of the butterflies using Melon Mambo ink.  The cardstock was inserted into the Large Oval punch, the words centered inside the punch window, and punched.  The large oval was placed, centered, on a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock punched with the Decorative Label punch.  A piece of Melon Mambo 1/2" Dotted Scallop ribbon was folded over at the top to create a loop--Sticky Strip was used to adhere the ribbon.  The bottom end of the ribbon was cut with Paper Snips to create a fish tail.  The looped ribbon was adhered to the back of the Decorative Label punch with a piece of Sticky Strip.  The medallion was adhered to the focal point with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The butterflies image was stamped near the upper center of the liner using Pretty in Pink ink.  The thank you sentiment was stamped over the butterflies using Melon Mambo ink.

The butterflies image was stamped again on the Medium Whisper White Envelope flap using Pretty in Pink ink.  The "Thanks" and flourishes image was stamped over the butterflies using Melon Mambo ink.

This card was designed as the Thank You card for all the great folks who placed orders with me in March.  There's still time for you to receive one of these pretty cards when you take advantage of all the great perks you can earn by placing a merchandise order during Sale-A-Bration.  But you'll need to hurry...Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31st.

Love the doily background and the butterflies. I got this set a few weeks back and haven't even used it yet.
