A Vintage (Type) Birthday Card

Hi there!

With Sale-A-Bration coming to a close on March 31st, I have a couple more cards I want to share with you that highlight some of the great products you can select for FREE (with a qualifying purchase of $50 in Stampin' Up! merchandise).  The first is a birthday card.

This card begins with a card base of Lucky Limeade cardstock; the edges of the card front sponged with Soft Suede ink.  Pieces of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper were adhered to a panel of Calypso Coral (the edges of the Designer Series Paper and Calypso Coral were sponged with Soft Suede ink).  The sponge with Soft Suede ink was swiped across a piece of Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled ribbon.  The ribbon was placed on the front of the Calypso Coral/Designer Series Paper panel to cover the line where the two pieces of Designer Series Paper meet and the ends of the ribbon folded to the back of the Calypso Coral panel and adhered in place with SNAIL. The Calypso Coral panel was adhered, centered, on the Lucky Limeade card front using SNAIL.

The Soft Suede sponge was swiped across the front and back of a second piece of Pool Party 3/8" Ruffled ribbon.  The ribbon was formed into a bow and placed between the open legs of a brad from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon & Brad pack.  The brad legs were crossed and folded over on the back of the ribbon.  Mini Glue dots were placed on the back of the bow and the bow was placed at the center of the ribbon on the card front.  Paper Snips were used to trim the tails of the bow.

The large medallion image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set was inked with Pool Party ink, stamped on a scrap piece of paper, and then stamped a second time on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  [A process called "stamping off".]  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Elementary Elegance stamp set was stamped over the Pool Party image stamped on the Very Vanilla cardstock using Calypso Coral ink.  The cardstock was inserted into the paper slot of the Curly Label punch centering the "Happy Birthday" in the punch window and punched.  The sides of the punched cardstock were sponged with Soft Suede ink.  A piece of Pool Party cardstock was placed on the Curly Label punch window and run through the Big Shot using the Movers & Shapers Curly Label Bigz XL die.  The edges of the inside piece of the die cut Curly Label shape were sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The Very Vanilla Curly Label punched "Happy Birthday" was adhered, centered, on the Pool Party die cut Curly Label.  Stampin' Dimensionals were placed on the back of the die cut and the sentiment was placed at the center of the top piece of Designer Series Paper.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock; the edges sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The large medallion image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set was inked with Pool Party ink, stamped on a piece of scrap paper, and stamped a second time at the upper center of the liner.  A lovely birthday sentiment from the On Your Birthday stamp set was stamped at the center of the Pool Party image using Calypso Coral ink.

The large medallion image from the Fresh Vintage stamp set was inked with Pool Party ink, stamped on a scrap piece of paper, and stamped a second time at the lower left front corner of the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Elementary Elegance stamp set was stamped over the medallion image using Calypso Coral ink.  The stamped area was made a bit more vintage by lightly tapping the sponge with Soft Suede ink over the stamped images.

This card is a mix of Sale-A-Bration items:  the Fresh Vintage stamp set, the Elementary Elegance stamp set, the Everyday Elegance Ribbon & Brad Pack, and the Everyday Elegance Designer Series Paper.  These items were designed specifically for Sale-A-Bration and will no longer be available after March 31st.  So if you are interested in any one of these items, or any of the other Sale-A-Bration specific items--like the Outlined Occasions stamp set, the Sprinkled Expressions stamp set, the Home Sweet Home Decor Elements, the One Big Sale-A-Bration CD, or the Piece of Cake Ensemble CD--please be sure to place your order before the end of the month before these items are gone forever.

Going to be sad to see all of this go. I just love everything you've made with this paper and stamp set.
