A Floral Hello

Hi there!

I'm looking at the date of my last blog post and I'm astonished.  How did so much time go by?  Considering all that's happened in the last month, I can understand how the time got away from me; however, I won't bore you with all the depressing details.  So it seems like a bit of a miracle to re-enter the blog-o-sphere and reconnect with all of you.  Thanks so very much for your patience!

Isn't this card just adorable???  It says "hello" in such a delightful way that you just have to smile when you look at it.  There are lots of In Colors used on this card.  Can you identify them all?

We'll start with the Whisper White focal point panel.  The Hello Blossoms single stamp was used for the focal point (and is available for only a few more days, through August 31st, from the Summer Mini Catalog).  The flower petals use (from left to right) Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder.  The leaves, stems, and scalloped "grass" are Lucky Limeade.  And the letters at the center of each flower are Poppy Parade.  All of these inks were applied to the stamp using the brush tip of each color Stampin' Write Marker.  (Just "huff" across the stamp using your breath to remoisten the ink before stamping the image.)  Across the bottom of the focal point panel is a piece of Calypso Coral 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon.  The focal point panel is attached, with Stampin' Dimensionals, to a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock matted with a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock.

The card base is Calypso Coral cardstock.  The vine image from the Borderlines stamp set was stamped vertically across the card front using Versamark ink to achieve a watermark effect with the vine.  The completed focal point was attached just a hair above the card front center using SNAIL.  The "just because" sentiment, from the It's Your Day stamp set, was stamped just below the bottom right corner of the focal point using Chocolate Chip ink.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The vine image was stamped along the bottom edge of the cardstock using Lucky Limeade ink.

The vine image was also stamped along the left front edge of the Medium Whisper White envelope; again, using Lucky Limeade ink.

I designed this card for the first meeting of the SASS Stamp Club (Sunday Afternoon StamperS).  It was so great to see everyone at our inaugural meeting.  We had a couple of folks drop from last year's group (we'll miss you, Carol and Dana!), but we were able to add two new people who will be great additions to our club.  So a great big "Hello" to returning club members Maria, Sandy, Karen, Darlissa, Sheila, Connie, Sandra, Margaret, and Rachel; and a sincere "Welcome" to Kathy and JayeLynne.  I'm so excited to be creating and sharing with all of you for the next 11 months!!

Thanks again to all of you for your patience in the last couple of months with the parsity of blog posts.  I'm looking forward to getting back into the groove and sharing more thoughts and ideas.  It's so wonderful to be back in my creative space; getting my fingers stained with ink and sticky with adhesives.
