Bright Floral Cards--Part 1 (Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop)

Hello!

Continuing the follow-up to the Stampin' Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop, today's post focuses on two of the cards in the Stationery Folder project featuring the Happy Greetings stamp set.

Both of these cards incorporate the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper and a few of the vivid colors found in this bright and cheerful paper.  These are tent fold cards with a card base of 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2" on the 11" length.

We'll begin with the card with the Wild Wasabi card base.  All the edges of the front of the card base are sponged with Wild Wasabi ink.  A piece of Tangerine Tango cardstock was cut to 2 5/8" x 5 3/8".  One 5 3/8" length was punched with the Scallop Border punch then the edges of the cardstock were sponged with Tangerine Tango ink.  The cardstock was adhered near the left edge of the card front using SNAIL.  The edges of a 2" x 5 1/4" strip of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper were sponged with Tangerine Tango ink and the strip was adhered, centered, on the un-punched area of the Tangerine Tango cardstock.

The "Happiness Always" sentiment from the Happy Greetings stamp set was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Wild Wasabi ink and punched out with the Decorative Label punch.  The edges of the punched sentiment were sponged with Tangerine Tango ink and then matted with Tangerine Tango cardstock.  The edges of the mat were also sponged with Tangerine Tango ink.  (See this post for information about creating a mat for this punched object.)  The sentiment focal point was adhered to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The bottom edge of the focal point is approximately 1 1/8" from the bottom edge of the card front and 1/4" from the right edge of the card front.

Below the focal point, Whisper White Baker's Twine was looped seven times and tied off at the middle with a smaller piece of Whisper White Baker's Twine.  The ends of the twine used to tie off the middle of the bow were cut close to the knot with Paper Snips.  A Clear Rhinestone brad was wrapped around the center knot (clip off any overhang of the brad legs using the Craft & Rubber scissors).  The twine bow was adhered below the bottom edge of the sentiment focal point with Mini Glue Dots.

A 3/4" x 5 1/4" coordinating strip of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper was punched with the Scallop Border punch along one 5 1/4" length and the scalloped edge sponged with Tangerine Tango ink.  The strip was adhered along the left edge of the Whisper White cardstock liner (4" x 5 1/4") with SNAIL and the edges of the liner sponged with Wild Wasabi ink.  The liner was adhered to the inside sentiment area of the card with SNAIL.

A 2 1/4" x 5 3/4" coordinating strip of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper was adhered to the Medium Whisper White envelope flap with SNAIL.  The overhang of Designer Series Paper was removed from the envelope flap with Paper Snips.  The edges of the envelope flap were sponged with Wild Wasabi ink.

Now for the card with the Melon Mambo base.  The layout for this card is very similar to the previous card; the difference is in the Wild Wasabi mat for the Designer Series paper and the sentiment focal point.

All the edges of the front of the card base are sponged with Melon Mambo ink.  A piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock was cut to 3 1/4" x 5 7/16".  One 5 7/16" length was punched with the Scallop Border punch then the edges of the cardstock were sponged with Wild Wasabi ink.  The cardstock was adhered near the left edge of the card front using SNAIL.  The edges of a 2 5/8" x 5 5/16" strip of Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper were sponged with Wild Wasabi ink and the strip was adhered, centered, on the un-punched area of the Wild Wasabi cardstock.

The "Thanks for being a friend" sentiment from the Happy Greetings stamp set was stamped on Whisper White cardstock using Melon Mambo ink and punched out with the Scallop Oval punch.  The edges of the punched sentiment were sponged with Melon Mambo ink and then matted with a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock punched with the Wide Oval punch.  The edges of the oval mat were also sponged with Melon Mambo ink.  A piece of Wild Wasabi cardstock was punched with the Decorative Label punch and the edges sponged with Wild Wasabi ink.  The matted sentiment was adhered to the center of the Wild Wasabi punched label with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The sentiment focal point was adhered to the card front using SNAIL.  The bottom edge of the focal point is approximately 1 3/8" from teh bottom edge of the card front and 1/2" from the right edge of the card front.  Below the focal point, a double bow of Whisper White 3/8" Taffeta ribbon was adhered with Mini Glue Dots.
