Four Frames & Paisley Petals Sneak Peek (Part 3)
Stationery Folder How-To (Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop)

Happy Greetings!

Edited to remove links for the Stampin' Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop, 4/29-5/1.

Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by during the Stampin' Addicts Summer Mini Catalog Blog Hop.

If you've arrived from Twila Davis' blog, Stamp a Little Longer, I know you were WOW'd by her awesome projects using the Touch of Kindness stamp set.  I hope you'll stay and visit for a while to peruse the projects I've created using the Happy Greetings stamp set.  I'm always drawn to sentiment stamp sets using fun and eye-catching fonts and versatile phrasing that can be used for a variety of occasions and events.  This stamp set certainly fits the bill!

My first project was created for a terrific young man who will be graduating from Florida State University this weekend.  His very proud parents will be traveling to Tallahassee to watch him take his "walk" and I'll be home watching a live feed of the graduation ceremony via webcast.

The colors used on this card are Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, and More Mustard (the red and yellow colors to mimic the Garnet and Gold of the Seminoles).  The sailboat image comes from a lovely single stamp introduced in the Summer Mini Catalog called Sail Away.  I think this image is great for a graduation card because it implies a wish to travel beyond the horizon to find your fortune.  Something that a this graduate is well-equipped to do!  The congratulatory sentiment used for this card was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink; the word "CONGRATS" filled in with the pen point of a More Mustard Stampin' Write Marker.  Cherry Cobbler and White Baker's Twine (another new item introduced in the Summer Mini Catalog) was wrapped around the top of the card to add a little more nautical flavor to the card.

The next project features a group of All Occasion cards featuring four more images from the Happy Greetings stamp set.  The beautiful floral images are provided by the Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.  Isn't this paper just beautiful!  It was hard to decide which side of the double-sided paper to use.  I really love all the bright and vivid colors used in this paper:  Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango and Wild Wasabi.

I thought that these cards would make a lovely gift, so I needed to come up with a fun and pretty way to present these cards.

Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight make such a vibrant statement, don't they?  The folder features two pockets that will hold the four floral cards you see above and their matching envelopes.  Here's what the folder looks like when it's opened.

You can see the satin ribbon hanging from each side of the folder.  These are used to tie the folder closed.  I was pretty pleased with myself after I finished the stationery folder; until I realized that I needed to make a card to give to the person receiving this gift!

Now it's time to continue to the next stop on the Blog Hop, Stitchin' n Stampin' on Paper with Kim Bolzenthal.  Kim is featuring the Strength & Hope stamp set.  This stamp set is truly lovely and as an added benefit, Stampin' Up! will be donating $2 from the proceeds of the sale of each stamp set and digital download to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation
