Green Bliss
Birds, Bees, & Butterflies in Pastels

Welcome Spring!

Hi there!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

This year's Sale-A-Bration featured stamp sets are really fun and I've shown you a couple of workshop invitations using the Bliss stamp set.  However, I realized that I haven't shown you projects made with any of the others.  Bad Mickey!

So here's a card that just shouts "Spring!"  I just love this color combination of Perfect Plum, Regal Rose, and Pear Pizzazz.

I haven't used my Watercolor Crayons in a while, so I began by stamping the three flower images from the Sweet Summer stamp set on Watercolor Paper with Staz-On Jet Black ink.  I added the bee image (Sweet Summer) to hover over the five-petal flower, also using Staz-On Jet Black ink.  Then I misted the paper with water and painted the left flower with Rose Red and More Mustard, the center flower with Perfect Plum and More Mustard, and the right flower with So Saffron and Rose Red.  The little bee over the Rose Red/More Mustard flower was pained with Basic Black and Daffodil Delight.  I set the watercolor paper aside to dry.

On the Perfect Plum card base, I stamped two rows of the vine image (Sweet Summer) using Perfect Plum ink.  A piece of Regal Rose cardstock was punched with the Scallop Edge Border punch and then layers of Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White cardstock were adhered on top of the Regal Rose cardstock.  This stack of cardstock was adhered approximately 1/2 inch from the top of the card front.  A piece of Perfect Plum cardstock was punched three times with the 1 3/8 inch square punch and these pieces were adhered to the Whisper White cardstock layer.  The "thanks" sentiment from the So Happy For You stamp set was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Regal Rose ink and punched out with the Word Window punch.  This was adhered to a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock punched with the Modern Label punch.  The sentiment was adhered near the lower right corner of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Once all that was finished, the watercolor paper was nearly dry and I finished up the drying with the Heat Tool.  Then I punched out each of the flowers with the 1 1/4 inch circle punch and adhered each circle to a square of Perfect Plum cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals.  To give the bee some depth and shine, I covered him with Crystal Effects.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The vine image was stamped three times along the left edge of the Whisper White cardstock using Pear Pizzazz ink.  The butterfly image was stamped near the top of the vines using Perfect Plum ink to look like he's flitting about and the bird image was stamped near the bottom of the vines using Regal Rose ink to look like he is perched on one of the vines.

The lower left front corner of the Whisper White envelope was decorated similarly to the inside sentiment area of the card.  The vine image was stamped with Pear Pizzazz, the butterfly with Perfect Plum, and the bird with Regal Rose.

Such a cute card. Love the color combo, don't think I've ever tried it before so thanks for the idea! And, once again, I like the inside of the card as much as the outside. Thanks for sharing your lovely talent with us :)

These colors are magic together, and I love all the layers! Mickey, you've done it again. I hope it's okay - I'm sending my two downline gals here to here to get inspiration!

This card is so cute Mickey and certainly does say Spring. I really like the colours that you used to compliment the flowers.
