Are you ready to feel some Love? I know I am! Here's a project from last weekend's meeting of the SASS Stamp Club.
This project uses the Valentine Defined stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and incorporates one of the products available with the current Filled With Love promotion, the Love Patterns Designer Series Paper. You can purchase just the Designer Series Paper; or for an even better value, add the Filled With Love stamp set and get a package of Bitty Buttons for FREE! Just click on the Filled With Love promotion link on the left sidebar of my blog page to find out more. Don't delay, though, this promotion is only available through January 24th. As a reminder, you can shop Stampin' Up! 24/7 by clicking on the Order Online button at the upper left corner of my blog page and then the Shop Now button at the lower right corner of my Demonstrator page. This will ensure that you receive the best merchandise and shipping prices.
The color combination for this fun Valentine's Day card is Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper White; a Monochromatic color palette. This means that there's one primary color and white or black. Since Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink are just variations of Pink (which is a variation of Red mixed with White) you have a Monochromatic color palette.
So before your eyes roll back in your head, here's how this card was made. Note that the only ink used for this card and coordinating envelope is Melon Mambo Classic ink. The laundry line of hearts was stamped on the top half of a piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock. Adhered to the bottom half of the cardstock is a piece of Pretty in Pink Designer Series Paper with the kissing flamingos stamped in the lower right corner. A piece of Whisper White 5/8" satin ribbon was loosely knotted at the center and then placed over the top edge of the Pretty in Pink Designer Series Paper (a Mini Glue Dot on the back of the knot holds the knot in place on the cardstock); the ends of the ribbon folded to the back of the cardstock and pressed into place with Sticky Strip. [The reason I stated "loosely knotted" is so that the card would be mail-able. A loose knot of satin ribbon will press flat and not require extra postage.] The Pretty in Pink cardstock was then adhered to the Melon Mambo Textured card base. The dialog window with heart image was stamped three times on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock. The hearts were cut out with Paper Snips and adhered randomly on the laundry lines of hearts with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock, the edges sponged to match the card base. The heart-tipped wavy grasses were stamped across the bottom of the cardstock and the valentine definition was stamped near the upper center.
The lower left front of the Medium Whisper White envelope was stamped with the hanging heart flowers and the love in brackets images. The heart-tipped wavy grasses were stamped across the envelope flap.
You may have noticed that once again I went to my go-to card design. (You can see previous examples here and here.) I used the design this time so that I could demonstrate a card that would be quick and easy to make in "mass production." As with Christmas, we like to spread the Love at Valentine's Day. This card is a fun way to share the love without breaking the bank or consuming too much of that rare commodity, time.
