Sweet Pea in Vogue

Hello!  I hope you're enjoying your weekend!  I've been thrilled with this weekend's weather in Central Florida.  Wow!  It's just AWESOME!  It's so wonderful to be able to open up the house and smell the clean fresh air.  Glorious!

This weekend I participated in a card swap with a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from the 3-2-1 Stamp Team.  My Stampin' Up! upline and 3-2-1 Stamp Team Lead, Catherine Harwood, hosts these meetings for her downline every month and suggested the swap.  It's a great way to share ideas.  Here are the cards I received in the swap:

My swap card used the sketch from the Inspiration in Action Weekend Sketch Challenge (IA117)

I began with papers from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Pack.  The papers I selected use Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Old Olive, and Rose Red in their patterns.  By choosing these colors for the cardstock, ribbon, and ink elements of the card, color coordination was a snap.  The "F" and "friends" comes from the Vintage Vogue stamp set (Occasions Mini Catalog).  The scrollwork frame comes from the Vintage Labels stamp set (Sale-A-Bration brochure).

One thing I struggled with was the color for the focal point element.  I knew I wanted to use Old Olive, Rose Red and Chocolate Chip; but in what combination?  The Chocolate Chip "F" won; however, I think the "F" in Old Olive looks just as nice.  I guess it's all in what pleases the eye.  What do you think?

The Whisper White envelope is stamped with the vine bundle from Vintage Vogue using Old Olive.  The small flower from Vintage Vogue uses Rose Red (the third time it's stamped, the stamp is not re-inked; a technique called stamping off).

A few words about the Sale-A-Bration stamp set used for this card.  There are three frames and three sentiments in this stamp set.  The shape of the frames coordinate with the Scallop Circle, Curly Label, and Wide Oval punches.  AND all of the sentiments in this stamp set are sized to fit easily in the frames.  It's a great stamp set and a wonderful value:  FREE!!!  [With your qualifying purchase of $50 in Stampin' Up! merchandise.]  To see the stamp sets, 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper Pack, and Scallop Trim Border punch available during Sale-A-Bration, just click on the picture of the Sale-A-Bration brochure on the left sidebar of this blog to download the brochure.

Have a great week!
