Flocking the Holly Jolly
New for 2010

A Pocket of Winter

Welcome back!  Thanks for taking the time to stop by during this busy season!  Today's post showcases the scrapbook pages made by the SASS Stamp Club at their November meeting and is also a submittal for the Pals Paper Arts Winter Wonderland Theme Challenge (PPA21).

One of the things we do most during the holidays is take photos of our loved ones and all the fun things we do together during this most special time of the year.  These 6" x 6" scrapbook pages were designed to document holiday memories AND provide a way to store some of the great mementos that we collect during the holidays:  Christmas Cards from loved ones (especially the handmade ones!).  A pocket page is a great way to keep treasured items that you don't want to permanently attach to a scrapbook page.  Pockets can hold all kinds of things:  loose photos, greeting cards, post cards, tickets, pamphlets, napkins, or other items that remind us of special events.

These scrapbook pages use the Patterned Pines stamp set.  This Level 1 Hostess Set from the Holiday Mini has been VERY popular!  However, it is only available until January 4, 2010.  If you'd like to earn this set, contact me right away!  What better way to relax in the week after Christmas than by getting together with your friends to stamp!

The pocket is created using a Medium Window Sheet stamped with the snowflake from the Patterned Pines stamp set using White Opaque Staz-On ink.  Strips of Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper are punched with the Scallop Border punch.  The left and right strips are attached to the page with SNAIL.  Both ends of the top and bottom strips are cut at 45 degree angles and then attached to the top and bottom of the page.

The pine trees are stamped with Soft Suede Classic ink.  The border strip on the right page is created with a piece of Shimmery White cardstock punched with the Scallop Border punch, layered with a piece of Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper and topped off with a piece of Soft Suede Dotted grosgrain ribbon.  The border is then attached to the page.

And there you have it!  A simple, yet attractive way to showcase your holiday memories and mementos!
