Circle Circus for the Scrapbook
Haunting in Monochrome

Sincerely Thankful

Edited to add:

This card was selected as a Pals Paper Arts Artist Pick for PPA10 on 10/7/09.  Woohoo!  This was my first ever submission to a paper crafting challenge.  My husband asked me what I'm going to do now that I've peaked so early.  He just doesn't understand...  Thanks to the folks at Pals Paper Arts for the recognition!

Hello!  I'm so glad you stopped by to visit.

It's a beautiful day in Central Florida:  our first taste of Fall.  We won't be breaking out the sweaters and jackets; it's way too early for that.  However, it was wonderful to walk into my office building this morning to a clear blue sky, cool breeze, low humidity, and temperatures in the mid-60s.  Glorious!  You may think that with the afternoon highs topping out in the mid-80s, we'd still be lamenting a never-ending heat wave, but you'd be wrong.  For us, this is AWESOME!  A very welcome break from unrelenting heat and humidity.  Thinking of Fall brings to mind the holidays of Fall and foremost among them is Thanksgiving and the opportunity to consider, and be thankful for, all of life's blessings.  Today, I am definitely thankful for the welcome change in weather, so I thought I'd share a Thank You card I made for some great folks who attended a recent workshop.  I am VERY thankful for the many friends and customers who support my Stampin' Up! business.

The Watercolor Vine Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel and Soft Suede Classic ink were used to create a tone-on-tone background on the Soft Suede cardstock base card.  The reverse side of a piece of Soft Suede Dotted grosgrain ribbon was wrapped around the front of Dusty Durango cardstock; the ribbon was attached to the back with Sticky Strip.  Two holes were punched into the ribbon/cardstock and Vintage Brads inserted.  Then the Dusty Durango cardstock was attached to the Crushed Curry cardstock with SNAIL.  The combined pieces were attached to the base card with SNAIL.

The peacock image was stamped onto a smaller piece of Crushed Curry cardstock with Soft Suede Classic ink.  The stamp was cleaned and the image stamped on a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock with Bermuda Bay Classic ink.  The peacock was cut out with Paper Snips and then mounted on top of the Soft Suede peacock with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Crushed Curry cardstock with peacock was attached to Bermuda Bay cardstock with SNAIL.  Stampin' Dimensionals were placed on the back of the Bermuda Bay cardstock and then placed on the Dusty Durango cardstock above the ribbon.

And there you have it!  A simple, yet attractive way to convey your thanks.  By the way, the stamp set used for this card is the annual Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) stamp set.  Stampin' Up! contributes $2 from the sale of each RMHC stamp set to RMHC.  Thousands of families each year are thankful for the services provided by this great charity.  To find out more about RMHC, click here.

Hope you've enjoyed your Fall day!
