Inky Friends Design Challenge #4 -- Beautiful Bouquet

Hello!

Welcome to Inky Friends Design Challenge #4.  Every 4th Friday of the month a new design challenge is posted.  This time we are using a color combo of Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, and Pool Party.

Using page 79 of the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog for color inspiration, I created a birthday card using a stamp set that I purchased soon after the Annual Catalog went live last June but hadn't used yet.  This project includes one of the great Sale-A-Bration items, the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper (one of the many great items you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order of $50 USD in Stampin' Up! merchandise).

BeautifulBouquet_HappyBirthday

This card begins with a card base of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  A panel of Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper was brayered with Pool Party ink.  To do this, roll the Sponge Brayer forward over the Pool Party ink pad repeatedly and then roll the brayer across the Designer Series Paper in a forward and backward motion (like the letter "M" or "W") beginning off the edge of the paper and ending off the edge of the paper.  Re-ink the sponge brayer, and repeat the process until the white areas of the Designer Series Paper is covered in Pool Party ink.  Lightly rub a dry paper towel over the Designer Series Paper to remove the ink from the Silver embossed areas of the Designer Series Paper and to burnish the ink into the glossy white area of the Designer Series Paper.  The Designer Series Paper was matted with a slightly larger piece of Marina Mist cardstock and then adhered at the center of the card front.

The large spray of small flowers image from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set was stamped three times across the center of the Delicate White Doily using Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, and Pool Party inks (cleaning the stamp at each change of color).  The doily was adhered at the upper center of the Designer Series Paper with the top, left, and right edges of the doily 1/4" from the top, left, and right edges of the Designer Series Paper.

A piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was die cut with the Big Shot using the bouquet of stems thinlit from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits and adhered over the doily.  A scrap of Marina Mist cardstock was die cut with the Big Shot using the ribbon wrap thinlit and adhered at the neck of the bouquet of stems.

The small 6-petal flower was stamped 6 times on scraps of Whisper White cardstock using Pool Party ink for two flowers, Blushing Bride ink for two flowers and Marina Mist ink for two flowers.  The flowers were die cut with the Big Shot using the corresponding framelit from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.

The large 6-petal flower was stamped 5 times on scraps of Whisper White cardstock using Blushing Bride ink for two flowers, Marina Mist ink for two flowers, and Pool Party ink for one flower.  The flower center image was stamped at the centers of each of the flowers using the corresponding ink color for each flower.  The flowers were die cut with the Big Shot using the corresponding framelit from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits.

The flowers were arranged over the bouquet of stems and adhered using Mini Glue Dots and Stampin' Dimensionals.  A tiny bow made with Silver 1/8" ribbon was adhered over the ribbon wrap die at the neck of the bouquet of stems using a rolled up Mini Glue Dot.

The "Happy Birthday" greeting was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Marina Mist ink.  A banner tail was cut into the left side of the greeting using Paper Snips.  The greeting was matted with a slightly larger piece of Marina Mist cardstock (also including the banner tail) with the right sides of the banners flush.  The greeting was adhered at the lower right corner of the Designer Series Paper with the bottom edge of the banner 1/2" above the bottom edge of the Designer Series Paper.

BeautifulBouquet_HappyBirthday_Liner

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The three branch stem with two leaves image was stamped at the lower left corner of the liner using Pear Pizzazz ink.  The spray of 4-petal flowers image was stamped over the top of the stem using Blushing Bride ink.  The "I couldn't have picked a better friend than you" sentiment was stamped at the upper center of the liner using Pool Party ink.

A thin strip of Marina Mist cardstock was adhered behind the top edge of a strip of Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper brayered with Pool Party ink.  The strips were adhered along the bottom edge of the liner.

BeautifulBouquet_HappyBirthday_Envelope

The three branch stem with two leaves image was stamped at the lower left corner of the Medium Whisper White Envelope using Pear Pizzazz ink.  The spray of 4-petal flowers image was stamped over the top of the stem using Blushing Bride ink.  The "Happy Birthday" greeting was stamped near the bottom edge of the stem using Marina Mist ink.

Are you inspired to create with this color combination??  I hope so!  And when you do, please share your creation with the Inky Friends!  Each challenge will run for two weeks and at the end we'll pick a winning project.  Here's how it works:

  1. Every 4th Friday of the month a new sketch can be found on the Inky Friends blog by clicking HERE
  2. Because this is a color challenge, the colors you must use are Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz, and Pool Party (you can use compatible colors and add neutrals as needed)
  3. Create something new that has not been posted before
  4. Post your creation on your blog or online gallery and please provide a link back to our challenge to the Inky Friends blog – provide a direct link to your project or post to the Linky which you can find at the END of our Inky Friends blog post
  5. YOU HAVE TWO WEEKS TO PLAY ALONG – then the challenge will be closed and WE PICK A WINNER – it could be you!

I can't wait to see what you'll make!
