Inky Friends New Annual Catalog Blog Hop -- Fabulous Flamingo
Fabulous Flamingo -- Thanks

Fabulous Flamingo -- Congratulations

Hi There!

It's been a busy weekend--but fun.  I hope your weekend was fun for you; whether it involved catching up at home, running errands, or hanging out with friends and/or family I hope you found time to make some fun in every situation.

Today's post is a quick and easy card featuring the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  This project was created for the Inky Friends Blog Hop showcasing items from the 2017-2018 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  To see a line up of the very talented Stampin' Up! artists who participated in the hop, click here.  To begin the hop, click here.

As I mentioned in the blog hop, I have a serious love affair with flamingos.  Especially tacky pink flamingos.  I don't think a flamingo can get any more pink than this one!

This card begins with a card base of Berry Burst cardstock.  A panel of Berry Burst foil polka dot patterned paper from the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut slightly smaller than card front, was adhered at the center of the card front.  A piece of ombre pink paper from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack (the one with no lines between the color gradations) was cut into two pieces with the color gradations vertical (the two pieces are 2-3/4" x 6" and the 3-1/4" x 6").  One inch (1") was cut off the top (lightest part) of the 2-3/4" x 6" piece and set aside.  The outline flamingo images were stamped on the remainder of the piece (now 2-3/4" x 5") using Berry Burst ink [Tip:  The Stampin' Pierce Mat is your best friend when using photopolymer stamps to obtain the best stamped images].

Linen Thread was wrapped around the bottom edge of the stamped paper and tied into a knot on the front left.  The paper was adhered to the Foil Frenzy panel with the top, left, and bottom edges of the stamped paper 1/8" from the top, left, and bottom edges of the Foil Frenzy panel.  A 3 mm Rhinestone Basic Jewels was placed over the stamped eye of the flamingo.

The 1" x 2-3/4"  piece of Color Theory paper that was set aside was trimmed to 3/4" x 2-1/2".  The "Congratulations" greeting was stamped at the center of the paper using Berry Burst ink.  The paper strip was adhered to the card front with the right edge of the paper flush with the right edge of the card base and the bottom edge of the paper 1-1/4" above the bottom edge of the Foil Frenzy panel.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  A narrow strip of Berry Burst cardstock was adhered behind the top edge of a strip of Berry Burst polka dot Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper and adhered along the bottom edge of the liner.

The 3-1/4" x 6" piece of Color Theory Designer Series Paper left over from the card front was cut down to 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" (removing the lightest and darkest color gradations).  The outline flamingo images were stamped onto the paper using Berry Burst ink and the flamingo cut out with Paper Snips.  The flamingo was adhered along the left side of the liner using teeny, teeny tiny dots of Multipurpose Liquid adhesive.  The "tickled pink for you!" sentiment was stamped to the right of the flamingo using Berry Burst ink.

Another piece of pink ombre paper (with no lines between color gradations) from the Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack was cut in half--this time the cut was made along the horizontal (with the lightest to one side of the cutting line and the darkest to the other side of the cutting line.  The piece with the lightest colors was cut down again to 2-1/4" x 6" (removing the lightest pink area).  The paper was adhered to the back flap of a Medium Whisper White Envelope and the excess paper trimmed away with Paper Snips using the edge of the envelope flap as a guide.

Placing a piece of copy paper between the closed envelope flap and the body of the envelope, stamp the flamingo body along the left side of the envelope flap using Berry Burst ink.  Stamp the "Congratulations" greeting to the right of the flamingo using Berry Burst ink.

I'll be back soon with another card made using the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  I hope you'll stop back by to visit!
