Everyday Tags -- To An Amazing Mother

Happy May Day!  Every month I marvel that another month has passed by so quickly.  It seems that the older I get the quicker time passes.  Good grief!

Items from the Retiring List are moving pretty quickly, too!  To see the list of Retiring Products (as of 4 a.m. Eastern Time, 5/1/17), click here.  Remember that stamp sets will be available until May 22nd; then after that date they are limited to stock on hand.  Retiring inks, paper, accessories, and tools are available only while supplies last.  You can place your order from my On-Line Store by clicking on the Order Stampin' Up! Online button at the top right sidebar which will take you to my Stampin' Up! website--then click on the Shop Now hotlink.

Today's post is a Mother's Day card I designed for the April Stamp Clubs.

This card begins with a card base of Melon Mambo cardstock.  The card front was embossed with the Big Shot using the Falling Petals Textured Impressions embossing folder (Retiring).  A piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock was die cut with the Big Shot using the floral border thinlit from the So Detailed Thinlits (Retiring).  A thin line of Multipurpose Liquid adhesive was applied along the border of the thinlit to adhere the thinlit along the left edge of the card front.  A piece of Melon Mambo 1/8" Stitched ribbon (Retired-Sold Out) was wrapped around the card front and tied into a knot on top of the thinlit border.

A strip of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (Retiring) was punched at the left end with the Banner Triple punch.  The right end of the strip of paper was adhered flush with the right edge of the card front with the bottom edge of the paper 1" from the bottom edge of the card front.

The "to an amazing mother" greeting, from the Everyday Tags stamp set (Retiring), was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Melon Mambo ink.  The greeting was die cut with the Big Shot using a circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and matted with a piece of Basic Black cardstock die cut with a scallop circle from the Layering Circles Framelits.  The greeting was adhered at the center of the scalloped circle and adhered over the banner strip using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The "Celebrate your day" sentiment, from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set (Retiring), was stamped near the upper center of the liner using Basic Black Archival ink.  A thin strip of Melon Mambo cardstock was adhered behind the top edge of a strip of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The two strips were adhered along the bottom edge of the liner.

So many of the Designer Series Papers in recent years have featured coordinating rolls of Washi tape.  I decided to have some fun with the Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape (Retiring) to embellish the flap of the Medium Whisper White Envelope.  The black with white diamonds tape was adhered along the fold line of the envelope flap.  Then the small hearts tape was adhered along the bottom edge of the black tape.  The "happy mother's day" greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, was stamped at the center of the envelope flap just below the hearts tape using Melon Mambo ink.  The pink tape with dotted diamonds was adhered along the bottom edge of the envelope flap.  The tape extending beyond the edges of the envelope flap was removed with Paper Snips.  [Tip:  Use Grid Paper to help line up the washi tape.]

Now it's time to get ready for my May Stamp Club meetings this weekend.  I can't wait to find out what we'll be making!
