I hope you're having a great week. There are lots of kids out and about this week in my neck of the woods as it is Spring Break for the public school children of Brevard County. Of course, Spring Break activities have been going on since the beginning of March with folks travelling to this area from around the country. It's also the last few weeks of Snow Bird Season and every day more cars, mini vans, and RVs are travelling North now that the temperatures are starting to climb. It's transition time in Florida. It's also transition time at Stampin' Up!
A reminder that the items on the Retiring List are moving out of the warehouse pretty quickly to make room for all the yummy new items in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog that will debut on June 1st. You can see the Retiring List here (updated as of 9 a.m. MT). To order Retiring Items, click on the Shop Online button at the top right sidebar that will take you to my On-Line store, then click on the Shop Now button.
Today's post is the final card I designed using the Pun Intended Host stamp set (Retiring List).
This card begins with a card base of Daffodil Delight cardstock. A piece of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (Retiring) was matted with a slightly larger piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhered at the center of the card front.
A rectangle of Daffodil Delight cardstock was matted with a slightly larger piece of Silver Foil Sheets. The "Snappy Birthday" greeting was stamped slightly above the bottom edge of the Daffodil Delight cardstock using Basic Black Archival ink. Staz-On Jet Black ink (Retiring) was used to stamp the camera image onto a piece of Silver Foil Sheets [Tip: The slick surface of the Silver Foil Sheets makes stamping a little tricky--be sure to place the image straight down on the foil, press hard, and bring the image straight up to prevent sliding on the foil], the image cut out with Paper Snips, and adhered at the upper center of the Daffodil Delight cardstock. A piece of Thick Whisper White Baker's Twine (Retiring) was wrapped around the Silver Foil Sheets/Daffodil Delight cardstock between the stamped greeting and the camera with the ends of the Baker's Twine tied off on the back of the Silver Foil Sheets. The focal point was adhered to the card front--at a jaunty angle--using Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock. A strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock was placed behind the top edge of a strip of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper and adhered along the bottom edge of the liner. The "Picture Perfect" greeting was stamped on a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock and punched with the Classic Label punch. A piece of Silver Foil Sheets was also punched with the Classic Label punch. The punched piece was cut in half vertically. The right end of the silver punched piece was adhered behind the right end of the Daffodil Delight punched piece so that approximately 1/8" of the silver extends beyond the edge of the Daffodil Delight. The same process was repeated for the left end of the silver punched piece and the left end of the Daffodil Delight punched piece. The greeting was adhered at the upper center of the liner.
A piece of Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper was adhered to the flap of a Medium Whisper White Envelope. Paper Snips were used to trim the paper to the edges of the envelope flap.
This card was part of a set that was created for a Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Host Stamp Sets. For a listing of the Stampin' Up! Artists who participated in the hop, click here. To begin the hop, click here.
I'll be back soon with another project that features an item (or two or three) from the Retiring List.
