So Very Much -- A Simple Thank You Card

Hello!

Today's post provides the how-to's for making one of the projects I featured for the Stamp Review Crew Sale-A-Bration Free For All Blog Hop.  I hope that you found time to visit all the blog sites on the hop as there were some really wonderful creations using the great items available for FREE during Sale-A-Bration with your qualifying order.  To see the line up for the blog hop, click here.  To begin the hop, click here.

When I make Thank You cards, I usually make a whole bunch at one time because I tend to use these up pretty quickly.  The thing is, I send Thank You cards for a variety of reasons, so the So Very Much Sale-A-Bration stamp set gives me some great versatility with the great script "Thank You" focal point image.  For this card, I used the "For Your Kindness" sentiment, but the stamp set also includes the sentiments of "So Very Much", "For The Gift", and "From All Of Us".  That pretty much covers it all for me!

So_Very_Much

This card begins with a card base of Emerald Envy cardstock.  A panel of Dapper Denim, slightly smaller than the card front, mats an Emerald Envy pattern from the Moroccan Designer Series Paper pack.  Two strips of paper were adhered across the patterned paper (the reverse side of the Emerald Envy pattern).

The "Thank You" script was stamped on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Dapper Denim ink and cut out with Paper Snips.  The script was adhered to the card front slightly to the left of center using Stampin' Dimensionals.  The "For Your Kindness" sentiment was stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock using Dapper Denim ink and punched with the Classic Label punch.  The sentiment was adhered to the patterned paper at the bottom right of the script.

So_Very_Much_Liner

The inside sentiment area was lined with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  A narrow strip of Dapper Denim cardstock was adhered behind the upper edge of a strip of Designer Series Paper (matching the narrow strips on the card front) and the two adhered along the bottom edge of the liner leaving a wide area to write a thoughtful note.

So_Very_Much_Envelope

The Designer Series Paper was adhered to the flap of the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope and trimmed to match the edge of the envelope flap using Paper Snips.

I love the color combination of Dapper Denim and Emerald Envy--so bright and happy.  Just the right feeling to convey sincere thanks.

Card Measurements --

Dapper Denim:  1/2" x 5-1/4", 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"; Emerald Envy:  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored at 4-1/4" along the 8-1/2" length; Very Vanilla:  4" x 5-1/4", 3-1/2" x 4-1/4", 1" x 3"; Moroccan Designer Series Paper:  Three pieces 3/4" x 5-1/4", 4" x 5-1/4", 2-1/4" x 6"

Vintage Leaves -- 2017 Desktop Calendar

Hi There!

Every year I make a desktop calendar for friends and family as a Christmas present.  Last January I shared the 2016 desktop calendar with my Stamp Club members and they asked that I design a 2017 calendar for them to make near the end of the year.  This is the calendar that we made at the November Stamp Club meetings and I decided that I would also use this design for the calendars I would gift for Christmas.  Unfortunately, time constraints prevented me from completing the calendars in time for Christmas.  I know that there were many who were disappointed that they did not receive their calendar at the family Christmas party.  Sigh...

Today I [finally] finished making and shipping the calendars for family and friends so I decided to share the calendar with you.

2017_Desktop_Calendar

To begin, layer the Whisper White cardstock layers centered on top of one another using a bit of repositionable adhesive between each layer.  The Vintage Leaves stamp set was used for this project and the largest leaf was stamped first using Pear Pizzazz ink with Crumb Cake ink added to the edges of the image using the Rock & Roll technique.  To do this, gently roll the edge of the Pear Pizzazz inked stamp image onto the Crumb Cake ink pad and then stamp the image onto the cardstock.  Be sure to clean the stamp between each inking.  This first leaf image was stamped three times in a triangular pattern.

The next largest leaf was stamped second using Old Olive ink with Soft Suede ink added to the edges of the image using the Rock & Roll technique, stamping the leaf three times in a triangular pattern.  The next leaf is the larger of the two smaller leaves which was stamped three times in a triangular pattern using Always Artichoke ink.  The smallest leaf was stamped three times in a triangular pattern using Cajun Craze ink.

2017_Desktop_Calendar_Inset1

There are five (5) leaf images in the Vintage Leaves stamp set.  So far the two largest and the two smallest leaves were used to create the background.  The middle sized leaf was used to stamp on the mini tear off calendar.  I found these calendars through Taylored Expressions.  The image was inked with Pear Pizzazz ink, stamped off onto scrap paper, and then stamped on each page of the calendar -- reinking and stamping off for each page of the calendar AND changing the orientation of the stamp image on each page of the calendar.  The calendar comes mounted on a piece of chip board, so with the added weight and the tear off action each month, Tear & Tape adhesive was used to adhere the chip board to a slightly larger piece of Soft Suede cardstock.

2017_Desktop_Calendar_Inset3

The stamped background stack of cardstock was carefully pulled apart and each piece mounted on a slightly larger piece of Soft Suede cardstock.

2017_Desktop_Calendar_Inset2

The three pieces were adhered, centered on top of each other, matching the stamped images.  The background piece was inserted into the calendar case (I purchase the cases in bulk from Calendar Case) and the tear away calendar adhered at the center of the background using Tear & Tape adhesive with the bottom edge of the tear away calendar resting on top of the lip of the case base.

2017_Desktop_Calendar_Inset4

There are times when I need a background for a project and just don't have the background stamp, textured impresssions embossing folder, or designer series paper that will work.  That's when I look for stamp sets like Vintage Leaves where I can use Versamark or a specific palette of colors to create just the background required.

Sealed With Love -- Happy Valentine's Day

Hello!

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.  Today's post features the Sealed With Love stamp set and Love Notes Framelits from the Occasions Catalog.  I'm sure that you've been seeing quite a few projects using this great bundle.  With all the great stamp images and awesome framelits, you can have some serious fun making all sorts of Valentine's cards, Love Notes, Wedding and Anniversary cards, Birthday cards, and Missing You cards.  This is a card that I designed for my January Stamp Club meetings.  I just love all the touchable texture!

Sealed_With_Love_HappyValentinesDay

This card begins with a piece of Thick Whisper White cardstock with the right edge die cut with the Big Shot using the articulating hearts edgelit.  The edgelit was placed vertically with the outside edge of the edgelit approximately 1/8" from the right edge of the cardstock.  Once the edgelit was removed, the left side of the articulating hearts were folded at the score line toward the right and the cardstock placed inside the Happy Heart Textured Impressions embossing folder with the top edge of the cardstock lined up with the top edge of the first row of horizontal hearts (just above the Sizzix printed on the front of the folder) and the left side of the cardstock lined up with the second vertical row of hearts (just to the right of the Stampin' Up! logo).  The embossing folder was then rolled through the Big Shot.

Sealed_With_Love_HappyValentinesDay_Inset

A strip of paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack was adhered to the Real Red card front with the top, right, and bottom edges an equal distance from the top, right, and bottom edges of the card front.  The die cut and embossed Thick Whisper White cardstock was adhered to the card front with the left, top, and bottom edges an equal distance from the left, top, and bottom edges of the card front.

The "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting was stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock using Real Red ink.  The "smoochie" image was randomly stamped over the greeting using Pink Pirouette ink.  The greeting was die cut with the Big Shot using a framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits.  A piece of Real Red cardstock was die cut with the Big Shot using a slightly larger scalloped circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits.  The greeting was adhered at the center of the scalloped circle and then adhered near the lower center of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Gold sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment were adhered to the card front using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.

Sealed_With_Love_HappyValentinesDay_Liner

The inside sentiment area of the card was lined with a piece of Whisper White cardstock with the "smoochie" image randomly stamped over the liner using Pink Pirouette ink.  A strip of Real Red cardstock was adhered behind the top edge of a piece of paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered along the bottom edge of the liner.

A 3" square of paper from the Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack was die cut with the Big Shot using the envelope framelit (the framelit fits across the square diagonally).  The envelope was assembled (bottom, left, and right flaps adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen) and adhered near the upper center of the liner.

A small piece of Whisper White cardstock was stamped with the row of small hearts image.  The "love you lots" sentiment was stamped just below the row of hearts.  Both images use Real Red ink.  The corresponding love note framelit was used to die cut the cardstock with the Big Shot.  The die cut was inserted into the envelope.  It's just too darn cute!!!  There are so many adorable ways you can embellish with all the fun framelits in this bundle.  It was VERY HARD not to go crazy with all the fun items.

Sealed_With_Love_HappyValentinesDay_Envelope

The "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting was stamped at the lower left front corner of the Medium Whisper White Envelope using Real Red ink.  The "smoochie" image was randomly stamped around and over the greeting using Pink Pirouette ink.

With just a few weeks until Valentine's Day, it's time to get serious about making those love notes and cards for all the special someones in your life.  With all the cute stamp images and loads of fun framelits, I think this bundle is the best bang for the buck in the Occasions Catalog.  AND during Sale-A-Bration, purchase of this bundle and a Real Red Classic Ink pad will earn you one FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.  You gotta love that!!!

That's The Tag -- Thinking of You

Hello!

This post is a follow-up from last weekend's Stampin' Addicts Occasions Catalog Blog Hop where I featured the That's The Tag stamp set with the coordinating Timeless Tags Thinlits.  If you haven't had a chance to go through the hop, I hope you will take the time to do so.  You'll see some wonderful ideas for using the great new items from the Occasions Catalog by some very talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  To tour the blog hop, click here.

I don't think that we can live our life in this world without some sort of difficult challenge (or two or three) from time to time.  It's just a part of living.  We do our best to meet those challenges, overcome them, and move on.  It's what you do.  However, watching someone you care about struggle as they work through these challenges can sometimes seem more upsetting than actually meeting the challenge yourself.  We want to reach out to our loved ones to encourage them, let them know that we care about their struggle, and cheer them on.  I think this card does just that.

ItsATag_ThinkingofYou

This card begins with a card base of Sahara Sand.  A slightly smaller panel of Soft Sky cardstock was adhered at the center of the card front.  A piece of Falling in Love Designer Series Paper was cut apart on the diagonal.  For this card I used a 3-3/4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper:  the 3-3/4" measurement is the width and the 4" measurement is the length.  The Stampin' Trimmer on my desktop has the widest part of the grid to the right of the cutting strip.  Place the paper at a diagonal across the cutting strip of the Stampin' Trimmer so that the top right corner of the paper rests on the 3/4" line of the horizontal ruler to the left of the cutting strip at the 6" mark of the vertical ruler on the cutting strip.  This will put the bottom left corner of the paper at the 2-3/4" line of the horizontal ruler to the right of the cutting strip at the the 7/8" mark of the vertical ruler on the cutting strip.  You can see this in the photo below.  Hold the paper in place with your fingertips and then use the cutting blade to cut the paper.

ThatsTheTag_ThinkingofYou_Inset1

Using Versamark ink, stamp the large scallop lace border image from the Delicate Details Sale-A-Bration stamp set along the diagonal edges of both pieces of the cut paper, cover the images with Copper Stampin' Emboss powder (tapping off the excess back into the container), and then heat emboss the images.  Adhere the top piece of the paper to a panel of Copper Foil Sheets (cut slightly smaller than the Soft Sky panel already adhered to the card front) with the top, left, and right edges of the paper an equal distance from the top, left, and right edges of the Copper Foil Sheets panel.  Adhere the bottom piece of the paper to the Copper Foil Sheets panel with the bottom, left, and right edges of the paper an equal distance from the bottom, left, and right edges of the Copper Foil Sheets panel.  You'll see that you end up with a diagonal opening of 7/8" where the Copper Foil Sheets panel is visible along with the thin border around the edges of the paper.

Using the oval tag framelit from the Timeless Tags Thinlits, die cut a piece of Soft Sky cardstock using the Big Shot.  With the same oval tag framelit and a piece of Copper Foil Sheets, add the butterfly inset inside the tag frame (as shown below) and die cut with the Big Shot.  Be sure to gather up the small butterflies and set them aside.  You'll be using them later.  Using Staz-On Jet Black ink, stamp the "thinking of you" greeting from the That's The Tag stamp set at the center of the Copper Foil Sheets tag.

ThatsTheTag_ThinkingofYou_Inset2

Using Multipurpose Liquid adhesive, attach the Copper Foil Sheets tag to the Soft Sky tag, lining up the die cut hole at the top of the tag.  Flip the tag over and place Tear & Tape adhesive against the outside edge of the Soft Sky tag and then adhere Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim along the outside edge of the tag making a small fold every 1/2" to create a "gather" effect.  Begin this process on one side of the die cut hole and end at the other side of the die cut hole, folding the ends over to create a neat edge.  (See photo below)

ThatsTheTag_ThinkingofYou_Inset3

Thread a piece of Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin ribbon through the die cut hole and attach tag to card front using Stampin' Dimensionals.  Trim ends of satin ribbon with Paper Snips.

ItsATag_ThinkingofYou_Liner

The inside sentiment area of the card is lined with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  A thin strip of Soft Sky cardstock was added to the bottom edge of a strip of Falling in Love Designer Series Paper and then adhered along the top edge of the liner.  Using Sahara Sand ink, stamp the "I know you can get through this...because I know you." sentiment, from the Sending Thoughts stamp set, near the upper center of the liner.  Using Multipurpose Liquid adhesive, adhere the die cut butterflies to the liner.

ItsATag_ThinkingofYou_Envelope

Using Sahara Sand ink, stamp the "thinking of you" greeting from the That's The Tag stamp set near the lower left front corner of the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope.  Using Soft Sky ink, stamp the flourish line around the sentiment to "bracket" the greeting.

I think this card is a very nice way to send a warm hug of encouragement to someone both near and far.

Card Measurements --

Sahara Sand:  4-1/4" x 11, scored at 5-1/2" along the 11" length; Soft Sky:  4" x 5-1/4", 2-1/2" x 3", 1/2" x 4"; Very Vanilla:  4" x 5-1/4"; Copper Foil Sheets:  3-7/8" x 5-1/8", 2-1/2" x 3"; Falling in Love Designer Series Paper:  3-3/4" x 4, 1" x 4"; Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin ribbon:  6"; Very Vanilla 1/2" Lace Trim:  11"
