Stampin' Addicts Retiring Stamp Sets Blog Hop -- Choose Happiness

2016 Retiring Stamps Sets

Hello and Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts Retiring Stamp Sets Blog Hop!  A number of very talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators will be bringing you a bunch of really great projects showcasing some of the stamp sets that are retiring from the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog.  I'm sure you're going to find some really fun ideas so grab a soft drink and a snack and get ready to hop!  It really doesn't matter which direction you travel through the hop, because all the stops are linked and eventually you'll end up right where you started--here!  To see the full line up of blog stops on the hop, just click here.

However, if you're traveling through the hop going forward, you've just arrived from Rhonda's blog, The Stampin' Bunny, where she showcased the Zoo Babies stamp set.  I just love her projects!

If you're traveling through the hop in reverse order, then you've arrived from Betty's blog, Kitty Stamp, where she presented projects using the Corner Garden stamp set.  Aren't the projects lovely?

The stamp set I chose to highlight is Choose Happiness.  I have two cards to share with you with two very different emotions tied to them.  Here's the first one--

I've been wanting to try the drape fold and decided to include it with this card.  Additional items from the Retiring List used on this card include:  English Garden Designer Series Paper, Whisper White Stitched Satin ribbon, Label Bracket punch, Hello Honey Classic ink, and Mossy Meadow Classic Ink.  I love the fun and happy feel of this card.

Here's the inside of the card.

The second card goes to the other end of the emotion spectrum.

I actually made a version of this card a couple of years ago and wasn't happy with it, so this was a good opportunity to improve on the design.  Additional items from the Retiring List include:  Word Window punch, 1-1/4" Burlap ribbon, Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink, Lost Lagoon Classic Ink, and Mossy Meadow Classic Ink.

Here's the inside of the card.  You can see another item from the Retiring List, the Petite Pairs stamp set.  I'm really going to miss this stamp set.  It's one of my go-to sets.

My third project is a gift box using another retiring item, the Takeout Boxes.

I wanted to combine some sparkle with some natural fibers and I think I accomplished just that with this box and the belly band.  Additional items from the Retiring List include:  the And Many More and Tag Talk stamp sets, Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper, 1-1/4" Burlap ribbon, Very Vanilla Satin ribbon, Ornate Tag Topper and Label Bracket punches, Iridescent Ice Stampin' Emboss powder, Bitty Banners Framelits for the Big Shot, Hello Honey Classic Ink, Lost Lagoon Classic Ink, and Tangelo Twist Classic Ink.

I'll be back next week with the how-to's for each of these projects.  Now it's time to travel to the next stop on the hop!

If you are moving FORWARD, then you'll be visiting Betty Traciak where she will be showing you projects featuring the Corner Garden stamp set.  Be prepared to be WOW'd!
